Products that do what I made crowdwave – imagine Twitter/Reddit but every post is a voicemail does

Hey it's Andrew - author of https://www.crowdwave.com here! - crowdwave works best on your phone - unless you've got your headset and microphone plugged in to your desktop, in which case desktop works great too. Here's the story: So about six months ago I saw this post on HN https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39910119 https://afterthebeep.tel is really cool - it's an anonymous voicemail box - you call the provided phone the number and leave a message. Blaine - the guy who runs the site (eventually) listens to and approves your message and writes a…

I’m thrilled to finally be able to show everyone what we’ve been working on for the last 2 years. We’re re-inventing the email experience to help you email smarter and faster, so you can get more done, and maybe even actually enjoy your inbox. When we launched Firebase here 10 years ago, HN was tough but fair, and I expect no less this time around! I hope you’ll check out what we’ve built and share your feedback. I’ll be around here all day and am happy to answer any questions. Let us know what you think!

Hey fellow HN-ers, I'd like to ask HN about my latest startup: SocialFolders. We take a Dropbox-like approach to managing your content on your social networks by mirroring all the content you have on these networks in folders on your computer. Moving this content around, between folders or between services, is mirrored in the all-mighty "cloud" (ugh, I hate this word). We'd love to know what you think. We think our approach solves the problem of managing content at scale. We put together a quick 2'30 screencast to show HN how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s2TFsVezZQ If you want…

Hi All ,I been working on my idea , A Voice CRM solution for 2 years. When I started brainstorming the idea the only option I have to receive phone calls thru browser was a flash widget or use 3rd party providers like Twilio or Phono . Thanks to WebRTC we now integrated our VoIP services to receive and make calls directly thru browser .Please have a look and give us your feedback .Thanks Voz.io Team .

I hope you are doing better today than yesterday. (TLDR in the comments; or enjoy my story :) ) Why: About 11 months ago, I launched my app for the first time on Reddit's r/lonely because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school. I wanted to reach out to people going through similar experiences by providing them with what would’ve helped me in the past. I felt this was an important mission for me and a much more rewarding one than my day job that I quit my job to work on the app full-time. It was necessary because I did not come from a programming background. I…

Wife of an app-builder here. My husband quit his full time job at Apple to work full-time last year on a new social audio app where you are anonymous and there are no videos or images - people can only connect with their voice. The app has been up for just less than 2 months, and it was incredible to see 300 users from all around the world leave voice messages of support for each other. It definitely restored my faith in humanity, so much so that I decided to jump on board as a co-founder :) We are on a mission to end loneliness that is gripping our world today, and we hope you also come…

Even though Wave was killed more than 10 years ago, I didn't fully appreciate its value until recently, when I had to spend a fair amount of time in some group email threads discussing complex subjects. Would using chat instead solve the problem? Not really. In my opinion, chats are great for exchanging quick single-line replies. But to have a real discussion and arrive at a meaningful conclusion, we actually need more structure, not less structure. Which made me realize I wanted a product that worked exactly like Wave, but without some of its annoying features. In my opinion, the real-time…

I created a pet project to see if it is of use and interesting to people. The idea is on-demand real-time chat rooms for trending topics and for personal use. You can go to the main page at www.urshoutbox.com to create your own room then share it across your social networks/email, etc. I created a hacker news specific "shoutbox" at http://www.urshoutbox.com/bLmYAL/hacker-news . If nobody is in there, please be patient and (I hope) people will join soon to start talking. The idea is to have trending topics on facebook/twitter/etc and have chat rooms to get…

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have been teaching myself web and app development and I just built my first web app in my spare time. It's called Voxxcast, and it allows you to leave voice messages on Facebook via your phone. I'm definitely interested in any feedback you can give me. I plan on creating a lot more apps and developing this one even further. http://www.voxxcast.com
