Products that do what Kubernetes Operator for Neon Postgres does
We're happy to announce an early version of https://github.com/molnett/neon-operator, a Kubernetes operator that allows you to self-host Neon on your own infrastructure. This is the culmination of our efforts to understand the internal details of Neon, and we're excited to share our findings with the community!

Hey folks - one thing I find a bit frustrating using non-supabase Postgres providers is the lack of ability to perform DB queries via an SDK/API. I decided to build a quick sample of how to combine PostgREST + Neon to recreate this dev experience.

Show HN: SerenDB – Neon PostgreSQL fork optimized for AI agent workloads We forked Neon to make database operations faster and safer for AI agents. The goal is to enable instant experimentation with production data and catch prompt injection attacks before they hit your DB. The open-source repo is at https://github.com/serenorg/serendb The coolest current features are: 1. Time-travel queries: Query your database as it existed at any timestamp. SELECT * FROM orders AS OF TIMESTAMP '2024-01-15 14:30:00'. Essential for debugging agent decisions and auditing what data an…

Hey HN :) I just saw the post about Glasskube - an open source package manager for kubernetes [1] and would like to throw package-operator in the ring for y'all to look at and get some feedback on it. Disclaimer up front: I'm an engineer working on package-operator as part of my SRE work in Red Hat's service delivery org. Opinions are my own, though. :) Package-Operator is a multi component ecosystem to tackle the package management story for kubernetes in a slighly novel- (and not so novel- when compared with OLM [2]) way: - `package-operator-manager` is an actual operator running inside…

My name is Elliott. For the last three years, I’ve been building a DevOps platform on the best-in-class open source platforms (Kubernetes, Elixir, PostgreSQL, Grafana, etc.). The goal is to give engineering teams access to a modern DevOps infrastructure without needing to have a full SRE/DevOps team dedicated. It’s also open source /fair source - all the source code is here → https://github.com/batteries-included/batteries-included I shipped a public beta today and would love to hear initial reactions, thoughts, and feedback. Here are details of the platform: *…

We have finally open sourced our Keycloak config operator (I have yet to find a better name) that allows to manage your entire Keycloak configuration in a GitOps fashion through Kubernetes CRDs. Starting is easy, there is an export flow which allows you to export CRDs from your current configuration and then you can apply them as needed. The resources are deliberately raw JSON (I'd love to see a discussion on this) so that its compatible with a wide range of Keycloak versions out of the box. Heavily inspired by the now defunct keycloak realm operator. Feedback and suggestions for…

For the last 3 years, I have been working on a way to solve inefficiencies in software infrastructure. Introducing Taubyte. What is Taubyte? Taubyte is an open-source, autonomous cloud platform focusing on serverless and AI infrastructure. Designed to be edge-native and GitOps-centric, Taubyte aims to democratize cloud computing and reduce ops overhead. Why Choose Taubyte? The Future is Autonomous! - Ready-to-Go Platform: Unlike Kubernetes, which often requires additional products, Taubyte delivers a fully-functional cloud network out-of-the-box. - Low to No Ops: Taubyte's autonomous nature…

I have embarked on a journey of rewriting Kubernetes into a single binary in Rust, with everything embedded. Architecturally, instead of etcd, it has options to use SQLite or PostgreSQL as a backend. I am trying to make it compatible with Kubernetes APIs, and kubectl should just work out of the box. This is not 100% ready yet, but I just wanted to show the first look. It is almost 90% AI-generated. Claude code with Opus 4.7 is being used here. It should just work out of the box on macOS with Docker as runtime.
