Hi HN, I made a web game to practice country locations a while ago and HN liked it, so I thought I'd post my updated version as well. As for how the game works and feels, I'd really recommend you checking it out for yourself, it's free, no signup, no ads. The tech stack is Vue + ts + Tailwind/Daisy for the looks. The learning algorithm is a slight modification of the ts version of FSRS. I've posted this game here before, hopefully a repost is fine as the game has changed quite a bit (improved AI, improved mapeditor, much quicker gameplay, etc). Game is based on JavaScript/Canvas and WebSockets. On the browser side the map is pre-rendered (as a background image), just the mobile units/buildings and animations are dynamically rendered. The lobby server is made in node.js, but the game server is C++ for performance reasons (mainly the pathfinding). I have always loved geography, and due to my childhood interest in football, I learned a lot of country flags. A lot, but not all of them! So, I decided to make a free game for anyone who enjoys flags and wants to improve their knowledge. You can compete against others because each game is timed. Have fun!

I loved the game World in Conflict (2007) One of those aspects I enjoyed was the maps shown during the loading screens. The colour choices and aesthetics were really striking and made the game even more immersive. Using Claude Fable and some photoshop skills, with a few tweaks here and there. I managed to get something quite useable and probably useless to most people shipped. If you enjoy maps, military, strategy etc, hopefully it is of interest to you.
