Products that do what LaunchAfrica – Find jobs in startup and tech companies in Africa does

I am releasing my new project, LaunchAfrica, as a beta to Hacker News. http://launchafrica.io/ Its basically yet another jobboard (sorry) but with the focus on the African tech and startup scene. As someone who grew up in Africa, I would like to give back and showcase the opportunities that this are available. What I am looking for from you is any critical feedback. From the design, to copy, and even the functionality and any additional features. ANY feedback is welcome! p.s. Any one reading this who has a startup or tech company in Africa, please don't hesitate to get in…

My name is Nelly Cheboi. I am the co-founder of https://techlitafrica.org, an organization that fosters a more technologically literate Africa by building computer labs in African schools. I was raised in Mogotio, Kenya, in abject poverty. At nine years old, I collected wild vegetables on my way from school to cook for my younger sister. The only way I knew out was by studying. So I studied. I studied hard. And I ended with a full-ride scholarship to Augustana College, IL. I was majoring in Chemistry before I discovered computer science my junior year of college. I loved it. With…

I couldn't find a simple way to explore the Brazilian startup ecosystem geographically, as I can in other places like the Bay Area or London, so I built one. The map currently includes hundreds of startups from Sao Paulo and their job opportunities. The most interesting thing I've learned so far is how clustered startup activity is in a handful of areas. I'd love to hear your thoughts. The EN version: https://www.startupsbr.com/sao-paulo

I scraped more than 400 urls that were listed as supposed good places to launch a startup. I checked out each one, and found a lot of neglected sites, domains for sale, sites asking a lot of money to list your startup, etc. I made notes about my experience with each. I think this could be useful to other startups.

It seems like there isn't a week that goes by where there isn't a post on Hacker News asking "where can I find coverage for my startup?" So, I decided to make something to finally help address part of this problem. I'm happy to announce the launch of StartShout (http://startshout.com) today - a new way to find sources of coverage for your news about events, startup launches, new features, or other announcements. StartShout is both a directory of content publishers and a pitch writing service. I made StartShout because I want to help hackers get their projects noticed, but I think it could be…

I just launched a site/business I've been working on for, well, too long: http://FunctionalJobs.com After observing the recent GitHub Jobs launch I decided to try a soft-launch approach rather than launch the site with zero job listings, or backfill listings myself for free. Any feedback on my idea/execution?
