Products that do what Local note engine uses LLM to organize notes into a knowledge graph does

i take a lot of notes but rarely find time to organize them so the value of most notes in my personal context quietly disappears. Notecast is a local note engine i've been building to help me with that. it runs a three stage LLM pipeline (Classify -> Organize -> Consolidate) that automatically builds and maintain a knowledge graph from the notes. the theme hierarchy emerges by subdivision as notes accumulate. Any change generates a proposal that can be edited and commited by the user. It is early stage and a lot of architectural and domain logic decisions might change but the core is working…

This lets you talk to local LLMs in Apple Notes. I saw Obsidian Ollama (https://github.com/hinterdupfinger/obsidian-ollama) and thought it was handy, but I'm too lazy to migrate away from the Apple ecosystem, so I quickly hacked this together. I tend to use Notes as a scratchpad for prompts, so it's nice to do some quick inference without leaving the app. Notes doesn't really support plugins so I'm using the macOS accessibility API for reading selections and then stream responses using the clipboard (not ideal but it works).

Reor is an open-source AI note-taking app that runs models locally. The four main things to know are: 1. Notes are connected automatically with vector search. You can do semantic search + related notes are automatically connected. 2. You can do RAG Q&A on your notes using the local LLM of your choice. 3. Embedding model, LLM, vector db and files are all run or stored locally. 4. Point it to a directory of markdown files (like an Obsidian vault) and it works seamlessly alongside Obsidian. Under the hood, Reor uses Llama.cpp (node-llama-cpp integration), Transformers.js and Lancedb to power…

I shipped a wiki layer for AI agents that uses markdown + git as the source of truth, with a bleve (BM25) + SQLite index on top. No vector or graph db yet. It runs locally in ~/.wuphf/wiki/ and you can git clone it out if you want to take your knowledge with you. The shape is the one Karpathy has been circling for a while: an LLM-native knowledge substrate that agents both read from and write into, so context compounds across sessions rather than getting re-pasted every morning. Most implementations of that idea land on Postgres, pgvector, Neo4j, Kafka, and a dashboard. I…

Built this for my LLM workflows - needed searchable, persistent memory that wouldn't blow up storage costs. I also wanted to use it locally for my research. It's a content-addressed storage system with block-level deduplication (saves 30-40% on typical codebases). I have integrated the CLI tool into most of my workflows in Zed, Claude Code, and Cursor, and I provide the prompt I'm currently using in the repo. The project is in C++ and the build system is rough around the edges but is tested on macOS and Ubuntu 24.04.

Edit: Thank you so much for taking a look at Seen! Yes, I know, it's really slow. And scrolling does not render notes instantly. And the title is a bit clickbait-y. I'll try my best to improve on it though. This is just a preview, the most basic version of Seen, and it's getting there. But, oh God, I almost got a heart attack when I opened up Vercel Analytics and saw ~1,500 page views, up from 10 or 12. Thank you again! It's such a weird experience showing something to the world for the first time as a 16-year-old and seeing so many people look at it. Hello HN! I've been working on creating…

So I've been working on this app for a very long time now. Started off by wanting an app that separates long form notes from short form notes visually and keeps everything organized on a canvas. The app features: -Sticky notes for quick, small notes and A4 notes for long form documents -A quick mode that uses local storage to quickly open the app and jot down a thought on the canvas -A PDF export option that exports your notes into 3 custom designed PDF styles -Visual hierarchy to replicate file structure instead of a linear fashion, where your files are notes, stacks are folders and labels…
