I'm launching Wirewiki.com today! Wirewiki makes the internet’s hidden infrastructure browsable. I quit my job 5 years ago to scale Nslookup.io. But after reaching 600k monthly users, I hit a ceiling. I couldn't naturally expand beyond DNS because of the domain name. So I went back to the drawing board: how would I make it today? Hey HN! I wanted to know what was going on in cities/towns where my friends live, so I built Needle. It uses an LLM + Open Street map to best estimate general locations of stories posted in the past day, and pin them on the map. For stories involving multiple places, I also wanted to show the relation between them. It's still a little janky, and is limited to mostly Canadian sources of news at the moment, but I'm planning on expanding it shortly, as I'm keen to see what international sources are writing about my home city. Hi, this is a project I have been working on for the last 1 month. :) The search engine is designed to make discovering events easier and faster with only one search input. To keep my budget down, only these cities are available for search at the moment: Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg, Lisbon, London, Munich, NYC, Paris, SF, Singapore. I created a wiki which is intended to be a culinary encyclopedia. The idea came to me when I wanted to know about the culinary properties of rosemary–how it should be used, what culinary heritage it originates from, etc. The Wikipedia page for rosemary is too generic and not tailored towards culinary info. I was surprised that something like CulinaryWiki didn’t already exist. There is basically nothing here yet (except the Rosemary page). I wanted to show HN to see if other cooking enthusiasts wanted to contribute some pages.
