Hi hackers! I'm a self-taught solo teenage dev ever wanted to show what you're doing right now on the internet? well I've been wanting to for a while, so I built Lynk, a lightweight macOS app that tracks your active apps, window titles, and daily usage in real time, and broadcasts that data over WebSockets. Oh and it also updates whenever you switch apps to connected clients! No SDKs, no APIs — just local tracking + a websocket endpoint you can ping from any language. ts-ssh solves a specific problem: accessing machines on your Tailnet from environments where you can't install the full Tailscale daemon (like CI/CD runners or restricted systems). It uses Tailscale's tsnet library to establish userspace connectivity, then provides a standard SSH experience. Works with existing workflows since it supports normal SSH features like ProxyCommand, key auth, and terminal handling. Some features that proved useful: • Parallel command execution across multiple hosts • Built-in tmux session management for multi-host work • SCP-style file transfers • Works on…

My elderly parents are behind a 5G connection in rural areas, and I help them manage their network from overseas. I found a reasonably priced 5G router that can do external antennas required for it to work, but the only reasonable ways to get access to it is either through OpenVPN or WireGuard, the latter of which is much more lightweight and preferred with the memory constraints of the device. The problem with WireGuard is that it requires handling key management oneself, and configuring the keys to every device you want to access it from. It also doesn't play nicely together with other…

Local development with .local domains and HTTPSfree tier, from $8/mo▲84Hi HN! I'm Jarek, and I've built this tool that allows publishing .local domains on the local network using mDNS. It also has a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS termination and port forwarding. I'm working on adding more features, like an index page with all available domains or allowing proxy redirects, so you could redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Hey HN, I built Wiredoor, an open-source platform to securely expose private HTTP and TCP services to the internet, without opening firewall ports or dealing with complex VPN setups. Wiredoor uses WireGuard to establish encrypted tunnels and NGINX to proxy traffic to internal services, making it much easier and safer to publish apps from your private network or homelab. Docs: https://www.wiredoor.net/docs GitHub: https://github.com/wiredoor/wiredoor Would love any feedback, questions, or suggestions!
