Sometimes my son asks me 'why' questions that could be answered well by a kid-friendly philosophy article. But I don't know where to find those, so I ask Claude or ChatGPT, and have a specific workflow for getting the type of output I want. I figured other people might find those AI-generated articles helpful, so I put them here: https://philosophy.ocaho.com/ There's a search box at the top.

I wanted to share a project that I've been working on designed to help young kids go from reading single words to reading whole books. My husband and I started spending a lot of time teaching our 5-year-old (Alex) to read because our school district is exclusively doing remote learning and I was skeptical that he could learn to read over Zoom. We used flashcards (which Alex found boring) and then combined them into sentences (which Alex found interesting). But the sentence approach requires a lot of arranging pieces of paper and remembering which words you are working on. So I developed…

I am a Dutch high school student and last year I had to do a large project of my own choice. Together with two other guys I decided to do a project about digital logic. We had an ambitious plan: building an 8-bits computer. At that time I started learning programming and I already knew some HTML and CSS. So we decided to not build a physical computer, but one running in a self-built simulator. I was going to build the simulator, the other guys took care of the computer. I was hard, our school hadn't taught us anything about computers and programming so we had to learn everything ourselves.…

This was a project I built for my daughter's first birthday present. For context, I'm a surgical resident in the UK by background and am currently taking a year out of training to study a masters in computer science. My daughter just turned one. There are two things she really loves: the first is particular soft toy that she just can't live without, and the other is a good story book. Her grandparents live hours away and I didn't want her to forget what they sound like between visits. I wanted her to hear them whenever she missed them. My parents brought my brother and I up with incredible…

I just built an app for children and parents to ask questions to explain to kids and to for parents to ask how to deal with any parenting situation. For example a 4 year old may ask “why does the plate break when it falls?” Sometimes it can be hard to answer that in a way that a child can understand. The system will go out and scour the web for information the topic, and then rewrite in a kid friendly and safe way. It goes and finds related images, videos, products and reference links. It also gives related words ,quiz, and some games and experiments to try with your child to see if they are…

Hello All, After going through my daughters prep interview process, the teachers advised that she needed to sharpen up on her opposites. After searching the Google Play store and being a little disappointed at the state of the opposite games, I decided to create my own version for her (I also wanted an excuse to make a kids game :) So without further ado, I give you the opposites game! :) https://oppositesgame.com/ A couple of notes: * I didn't create a scoring system as I didn't want to give the sense of "pressure" in the game * A couple of ideas have popped up in my head…
