Little Answers helps parents, caregivers, and teachers explain complex topics to children in simple, warm, age-appropriate language. Ask a question in any language, pick an age range, and choose a style: - Story: gentle, imaginative explanations - Gentle: short and calming - Curious: a bit deeper Every answer stays respectful and easy to say out loud. I just built an app for children and parents to ask questions to explain to kids and to for parents to ask how to deal with any parenting situation. For example a 4 year old may ask “why does the plate break when it falls?” Sometimes it can be hard to answer that in a way that a child can understand. The system will go out and scour the web for information the topic, and then rewrite in a kid friendly and safe way. It goes and finds related images, videos, products and reference links. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
