Hey HN! I’ve written a bunch of WebSocket servers over the years to do simple things like state synchronization, WebRTC signaling, and notifying a client when a backend job was run. I realized that if I had a simple way to create a private, temporary, mini-redis that the client could talk to directly, it would save a lot of time. So we created DriftDB. In addition to the open source server that you can run yourself, we also provide https://jamsocket.live where you can use an instance we host on Cloudflare’s edge (~13ms round trip latency from my home in NY). You may have seen my…

Hi HN, We are the devs behind VibeShift. We have been building this MCP server to put AI coding assistants in an automatic feedback loop. They code, test, debug, fix everything until we have a fully working, secure code. It tests like a real user, copies network/console and logical errors to give them back to cursor. (1 min demo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN_RgQGa8B0) We felt this was the natural next step for AI coding assistants. And with new asynchronous assistants like codex, having a plug & play tester makes sure you don't have to spend time debugging and…

I've been working on this alternative for Plex for almost 3 years now. It's main selling point is that it correctly handles multiple versions of albums and songs. As of today, it only has a web client. It tries to be as flexible as possible, but still requires a bit of configuration (including regexes, but if metadata is embedded into the files, it can be skipped). I just released v3.0, making videos first-class data, and scanning + metadata matching faster.

Hi HN, I built MicroVibe, a small web starter for people who want JSX + file-based routing + API routes, without pulling in a heavy framework. What it does today: - File-based routing (including dynamic and catch-all segments) - API routes with consistent JSON error shape - SSR by default, and `mode = "client"` per route when interactivity is needed - Runtime module cache with file-change invalidation in local dev Project goal: keep the runtime small and understandable so teams can iterate quickly and still reason about behavior. I would really value feedback on: 1. Routing/API…

Hi everyone! For our graph database, Memgraph [1], we have just built a WASM-based JavaScript client adapter called jsmgclient. One of our engineers has described in depth the process that he has used to achieve this. [2] If you have used WASM can you take a look at our approach and tell us what you think about our approach? Do you see any things that we should have done differently? [1] https://memgraph.com/ [2] https://memgraph.com/blog/wasm-introducing-the-very-first-wa...
