Products that do what Memento – Self-hosted agentic search and LLM wiki over your email does
Our email inboxes carry multiple decades of messages (100K-500K). This is a good proxy for all the important things that happened in your life, the projects you have done and the people that you have connected with. With the chronological view of messages in the inbox, these details remain hidden. What if we could turn this archive into a personal wiki that you can search and curate? That is Memento. For the information architecture of such a wiki, Memento takes an opinionated view of creating four high level dimensions - People (like a CRM view of your contacts), Projects (life events that…

Hey HN, I’m the creator of Mail Memories. Like many of you, I've had my Gmail address for more than 20 years. A few years ago, I got curious and wanted to see what photos were buried deep in my account. I ended up finding lots of "lost" pictures of old friends, family members, and a ridiculous number of vintage memes. I originally built and launched this as a SaaS, but even with code and policies in place that kept users' photos private, I figured everyone would feel more comfortable with a desktop app. So, I threw out the server architecture and completely rewrote it as a 100% local desktop…

Bookmarks which you wanted to read, but simply forgot... It happened to me all the time. I bookmarked the articles to read later and simply forgot about them. Forever. I built Mailist to help with that. Already 2350 users enjoy their "weekly digests" composed from their bookmarks. It makes me super happy! So now, https://mailist.app Pro account allows you to send an email newsletter every day, built from your bookmarks. Does it sound interesting? The free version (weekly email) is available for everyone! Let me know what you think. PS. Unlike other tools, we care about your privacy…

Hey HN, I’d like to share an open-source project I’ve created. It is an email archiving tool that can back up your whole email system with full-text search capabilities. The project is called Open Archiver, and it is able to archive and index emails from cloud-based email inboxes, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and any IMAP-enabled email inbox. You can connect it to your email provider, and it copies every single incoming and outgoing email into a secure archive that you control (Your local storage or S3-compatible storage). Some features: - Archive and index all emails and…

Always loved posterous, but I thought it would be really cool if somehow you could treat email addresses like twitter hashtags and usernames. So after 2 days of coding, it's here and works. It's not pretty, but it's really neat & kinda addicting. Anyone can email or text anything to _ _ _ _ _ [email protected] and it immediately creates a public page and an email address. For example, say you wanted to create a page for coding errors called fmlcodesucks, you could just text or email it to [email protected] and it instantly posts your picture to that page and lets anyone contribute by…

hey hackers , Me and the team are super excited to launch Ambra - https://ambra.app – a collaboration tool enabling teams to organize tasks in a natural way by using only tags and mentions, all in a single box. Ambra removes the necessity of having multiple fields for creating a task – there is one single box to rule them all. We empower writing tasks naturally. Defining a fully descriptive task in traditional tools is not a simple process. You’ve to start writing the task title, description, and additional form fields for task status, priority, assignee, etc. It means there are…

Hi one and all. I've created an encrypted personal organizer I wish to share with you all. I know.... you are sighing and thinking "Oh! No! not another one". doogiePIM is different in that it's built by the same coder that created one of the very first PIMs that came out around 18+ years ago and creator of TexNotes way back then (it was actually called Scribillo. Wow, I feel old). The original PIM was sold then abandoned by GemX Software and that made me feel really bad. So, I obtained the full code and started to build a far better version of the information manager. One that will…

This is a project that I have been building for a while now, YourMemory is a solution to agentic memory which focuses on pruning of noise rather than hoarding of data. In the current state of agentic memory most of the context is stored in the form of a MD file or is derived through a RAG model where you store each and everything. Both of the solution leads to bloated context which does not optimize the usage of any tokens. In this system we only keep relevant data in our memory and prune all the unnecessary data. The relevance of a data is derived through multiple factors such as recall…
