DoubleMemory started as an experiment to see if I can somehow automatically save all double cmd + c, as I often do instinctively, so I don't need extensions to save links and text into an app, and avoiding flooding the capture history as regular clipboard managers does. I built Mnemeo after years of searching for the right flashcard app. I loved Memrise's typing mode and clean UI, but when they pivoted away from user-generated content, I had to find alternatives. Owl is built a spaced repetition app. We built it for ourselves mostly because we were unhappy with Anki from a UX perspective, and are now releasing it to everybody else. It is super tiny, but - we think - also pretty good. You can add your own decks manually, or generate them from a PDF (think academic papers, which is how I use that feature) or a prompt. There are no emails except study reminders (when there are cards to study). You can also use our "AI tutor" to review cards conversationally. Looking forward to your feedback!

The app started as my wishful thinking that flashcards should really be derived from notes. I've been constantly writing things down and wishing to remember them. However, I never could convince myself to populate a flashcard app with them. I really tried (Anki, Supermemo), but I guess regular form filling is not for me. So I've started experimenting with flashcards derived from structured notes. Writing the 1st MVP was fast, but productionising it was way harder. Content synchronisation when the user can work from tube/plane and use multiple devices and content is text is… not trivial.…

Hey, I created seven years ago a flashcard app with a main focus on UX. In the last months I added offline-first mode and a CLI that allows Claude Code or Codex to create high quality flashcards for you. I use that to learn about pharma rules, technology, dancing, taxes and smart home. Never really did marketing, this not my specialty. Would love to know what you think

Hi HN! During the last year, I've been building python.cards: a site to learn Python using spaced repetition. My goal is to make the most of spaced repetition by making it extremely simple to use and by providing high quality flash cards.
