Products that do what Meow – An Image File Format I made because PNGs and JPEGs suck for AI does
One of the biggest context AI LLMs can get from images is their metadata, but it's extremely underutilized. and while PNG and JPEG both offer metadata, it gets stripped way too easily when sharing and is extremely limited for AI based workflows and offer minimal metadata entries for things that are actually useful. Plus, these formats are ancient (1995 and 1992) - it's about time we get an upgrade for our AI era. Meet MEOW (Metadata-Encoded Optimized Webfile) - an Open Source Image file format which is basically PNG on steroids and what I also like to call the purr-fect file format. Instead…

Hi HN, I’ve spent the past few months building https://meme-gen.ai – a tool that transforms any photo into an AI-generated meme video. It’s built for simplicity: no need to write prompts, tweak settings, or have any experience with AI or video editing. Just upload a photo, and our system instantly animates it into a short, funny video meme. It’s designed to be zero-friction and fun – something you can use in seconds and share in a click. I built this because I wanted to make AI video creation truly accessible to everyday users – not just developers or creators with editing…

It's our new text-to-image model: a 9.3B single-stream diffusion transformer trained entirely from scratch. We focused heavily on controllability through structured JSON prompts, with strong text rendering, spatial awareness through bounding box guidance, and color palette control. It has the best text rendering of any open-weight model we've tested so far, and the NF4 quantized checkpoint runs on a single 24GB GPU. For more technical details and examples see our blog post: https://ideogram.ai/blog/ideogram-4.0/ We will be happy to answer any questions :)

Hi Hackernews! Mage is the incredibly simple and fun platform with over 50+ top, custom Text-to-Image AI models as well as Text-to-GIF for all to create with their imagination, unlimited & unfiltered. Start with fast and unlimited Stable Diffusion for free! The first Mage link posted ever was here on HackerNews back in September with the promise of Free, Fast, & Unfiltered Stable Diffusion. Turns out, avoiding the h*ll of pip installs and CUDA errors while enjoying this incredible tech was (and is) a popular idea! Since then, we've grown into an incredible community, with a lively Discord…

Hi HN, We’ve been building [memU](https://github.com/NevaMind-AI/memU), an open-source memory framework for AI agents that supports both classic RAG and LLM-based direct file reading. RAG has become the default in LLM systems, but many of its failures don’t come from the model — they come from the retrieval assumptions. Embedding-based retrieval is fundamentally an approximation over semantic similarity. It works well for fuzzy recall, but it often breaks when relevance ≠ correctness, which is common in real systems. From a retrieval perspective, RAG struggles with: -…

Hi HN, I'm excited to share a project I've built: PixelateImage.org. Instead of being a traditional image editor, this is an *AI-powered tool that generates pixel art directly from your text prompts.* If you've ever wanted to create unique pixel art characters, scenes, or assets for games, art projects, or just for fun, but perhaps lacked the specific artistic skills or time, this might be for you. My goal was to make generating retro-style or modern pixel art more accessible. You can type in a description (e.g., "a brave knight in a dark forest," "a futuristic cityscape at night," "a cute…

Hi HN, We’ve been building memU(https://github.com/NevaMind-AI/memU), an open-source, general-purpose memory framework for AI agents. It supports dual-mode retrieval: classic RAG and LLM-based direct file reading. Most multimodal memory systems either embed everything into vectors or treat non-text data as attachments. These work, but at scale it becomes hard to explain why certain context was retrieved and what evidence it relies on. memU takes a different approach: since models reason in language, multimodal memory should converge into structured, queryable text, while…

ImageSage finds the image you remember.

It is a private, local AI gallery. Point it at the folders you choose and it reads them in place, building an index that stays on your PC. That gives you two things Windows file search cannot: search that understands what is inside your images, and AI
