We're a small group competing at a local StartupWeekend (http://startupweekend.org) and were hoping to get feedback on our app idea. We're very close on a working prototype for android, using accelerometer data to determine music that would match a user's intensity level. Most of us are hackers, working away at code and design/copy is admittedly a weak point. We're also working on our market validation at the moment. Our website is at http://movegroove.github.com. I made this iPhone app called "Affine Tuning" which is a collection of body-interactive musical pieces: https://affinetuning.com/ It uses body tracking (Motion Capture from RealityKit) to shape dynamic compositions. The app is completely free and will be updated in the future with more songs and other interactive features.

I've been working on an app in my spare time for about the past 6 months in between my day job and taking care of my 10 month old daughter. I started running 5 years ago and it completely changed me. Recently, I decided to train for my first marathon and needed something more than just tracking my runs to motivate me. Hello, I have just finished my second app, which is also my first ever pay to download app. It's called StreamClock, It's like a radio alarm clock, but uses a Last.fm radio station, or Spotify Track chosen by the user. It took me 1 month of evenings and weekends, and I fell like I have learned a lot. I am particularly proud of the logo... To find it just search "StreamClock" in Google Play. A buddy and I decided to hack on this little project this weekend, putting in about 12 hours. It's running Ruby on Rails, deployed to Heroku. We tried to keep things super lean with different gems handling user accounts, mailchimp for an email list and super lean styling/layout. Everything should work well enough on mobile devices, too, so give it a look! I am about to graduate from university this year, and I had an idea to create a mobile app similar to TikTok but for OnlyFans. Interestingly, the inspiration to replicate TikTok came from an episode of the Acquired Podcast discussing Meituan. It seemed somewhat ironic to copy a Chinese app. I ran out of money to pay rent though, so I’m looking for jobs here in Sydney instead now. I want to keep working on this project in my spare time and would appreciate any feedback and particularly guidance for how to run an open-source project!

I know mentioning Michael Seibel is almost cheating, but this week he demonstrated the "leaky pipes" concept to me. Not that I know the guy, but in one of his videos he says something on the lines of "If you are unsure if you app is ready to be launched, just launch it. It's like a house with leaky pipes, just open the main, grab your tools, and start fixing wherever water is leaking". I'm a musician by night, software developer by day, and one of the minor frustrations I've always had was trying to find a simple tuner app for my phone. Looking at both the iOS and Android app stores, you'll find a lot of the top tuner apps are rather bloated with ads or subscription callouts. The idea came from someone close to me who completely changed their life by focusing on their health.
