Products that do what My first iOS app, a modern MUD client for iPhone and iPad does
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. Fortunately a friendly MUDRammer[0] appears to lend aid! http://appstore.com/mudrammeramodernmudclient MUDs are online multiplayer text-based games. There are thousands, set in fantasy, medieval, Sci-Fi, absurdist, and many other worlds. MUDRammer is a modern MUD client focused on speed, readability, and flexibility. Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I've just reached beta in my game BoxByte Lyte. -What is it- It's a free 3d arcade game for hardcore players that uses color matching in interesting ways. Also it's a one button game, well movement and one button. Cool huh? The final release will be free too. -What I need- This is a very challenging game, so I really need to balance the difficulty so that it's still hard but not impossible. It would be great just to hear your experiences of the game and how far in it you got. -Where can I report bugs?-…

Hi guys, I've spent the last 18 months building a restaurant POS app that can run completely and reliably on iOS. Along the way, we've really pushed the devices to their limits and have something special that doesn't rely on the cloud for service, doesn't copy old and crappy "100 buttons on a screen" POS interfaces, and is still just as efficient and much more usable. Combining Bonjour (Apple's implementation of zeroconf) with the excellent Cocoa APIs also made it a relatively magical experience - you can literally watch on an iPad as a waiter takes an order on a iPod connected to the iPad.…

I recently finished a round of tweaks on my barebones mud-server and thought HN might be interested. https://github.com/endgame/MudCore It sits somewhere between socketmud and a full mud like tbamud in that it handles all the socket work and telnet negotiation, but it makes no assumptions about anything else. The other interesting thing is that it can talk to other services using ZeroMQ. I'm interested in reactions, particularly in terms of coding style, documentation quality and so on. It's my main "presentation piece" so far, in that it's some of the first code I actually feel proud to…

I just finished my first iOS game, Snack Words, which is a real-time, multi-player word finding game. iTunes link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/snack-words/id425786167?mt=8&ls=1 YouTube video demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zPQuqoUHqU I wanted to build something very simple and minimal. There's no figuring out who to play, and each game is only 90 seconds long. The backend is 2,400 lines (so short!) of Erlang which speaks a custom protocol (length tagged JSON packets) to the client. The Objective-C side protocol implementation makes heavy use of blocks and works a lot like my…

* I accidently deleted my post this morning and couldn't post again for a while.. lets try this again* Hey Guys. I posted about this a few week ago. Based on the feedback we received we made a new trailer video. I think this one does a better job of showing GamePress and its features. Video can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZUNhviJLr8 or at www.gamepressapp.com Just a quick reminder of what GamePress is: GamePress lets you create, share and play mobile games right on the iPad. With our robust behaviour system you can create a wide range of genres, so theres really no limit to…

It's like a mix between Picross (Nonograms) and Polyominoes. It's a minimalist puzzler which has no text, no tutorials (none required) and no ads set in a relaxing environment. App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/shapeuku-shape-puzzle-game/i... Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dtbgames.s... I have a bulk load of Android promo codes to give away, so if you'd like one let me know! (Sorry iOS users, I have no free codes left!)

I made a simple webservice to allow applications to be automatically aware of other users nearby. I made a demo of an HTML5 tankwars game to show it off. Play it here www.battlewith.me.uk Find the source code here https://github.com/fmstephe/location_server If anyone would be interested in using this to build something, mobile apps are the best target, give me a shout. I am very keen to see other people building on this.
