Products that do what myfaves.fm – A flat-ui music player built with Meteor does
I recently launched my side project I've been building with Meteor js over the past few months. It uses the Soundcloud, Hypemachine, and exfm public APIs to pull in your 'favorite' tracks from each of your usernames provided. It's gives you a unified playlist of all your favorite tracks across the different sites. Audio is being played using the HTML5 Audio API, so it currently only works in Chrome and Safari. Built with: * Meteor JS – http://Meteor.com * Bourbon Sass Mixin Library – http://bourbon.io * Spin.js – http://fgnass.github.io/spin.js/ *…

Hey HN! I've been working on Muxamp for over a year now, and I decided that there's no point in keeping the source closed. (I never planned on making money from it.) I've learned a lot since I started, and I hope others can benefit from its release--and perhaps teach me a thing or two as well :)

Hello everyone! As someone who's constantly on the look for new music to discover and being very deliberate about the things I'm listening, I needed a better way to organize the albums I want to listen to, listened and liked. And also I would like to see the discoveries of other folks who I know I like. So I started creating the tool I wish I had in the first place. In Digs, the basic idea is that: - you can add music releases (albums, EPs, singles, mixes) in three lists: Want to Listen, Listened, Digged. You can also use tags and notes to better organize these lists. - you get a public…

Here is the backstory: I used to use YouTube Music, but then I deleted my Google account. I didn't want Spotify because I hate it for various reasons, and at the same time I wanted to show off my programming skills. So here we are. --- On the client: solidjs + tailwindcss + minisearch. IndexedDB as the database. One web worker to download audio to OPFS. Another web worker for indexing with minisearch. On top of this a service worker to precache static assets and make the app work offline. On the server: bun + astro + sqlite + ffmpeg. Full-text search is implemented with fts5. Astro Actions…

A buddy and I decided to hack on this little project this weekend, putting in about 12 hours. It's running Ruby on Rails, deployed to Heroku. We tried to keep things super lean with different gems handling user accounts, mailchimp for an email list and super lean styling/layout. Everything should work well enough on mobile devices, too, so give it a look! Right now the magic all happens via the Soundcloud API (of course), but we're exploring different ways to make this appeal to a broader audience of music listeners. We'd love your feedback! Here's the site:…

As a side project for a hockey manager game, I created a small audio tracker, "HM Tracker," which was used to make the game's music. It is a browser-based tracker-style music workstation. All sound is procedurally generated from oscillators - no samples, no plugins. The UI lets you edit patterns on a step grid, pick instruments and chords, then export as a standalone JS music engine or WAV file. Built with vanilla JS and the Web Audio API (best experienced on a desktop browser). Made in the '90s demoscene spirit (at least the looks, anyway). Would love any feedback!

URL: http://mixcastr.com/ The end of the weekend is here, and my project (roughly 15 hours) is done. It's called Mixcastr, and it uses the Sound Cloud API to serve songs from their platform, based on user queries. So yeah, it's really just a glorified search interface - but I had fun making it. Hopefully next weekend I'll expand on its functionality/utility. Breakdown: Sinatra, Twitter Bootstrap, SoundCloud JavaScript SDK, and Heroku, Polymorphs, CloudMade

Muxamp is a unified playlist that lets you search for and play YouTube and SoundCloud media back-to-back. It is my first web app, written entirely in JavaScript (thanks to Node.JS). Link: http://muxamp.com/ Features: * Easy track search * Drag and drop playlist rearrangement * Sharing your playlist is as easy as copy-pasting the URL * Attractive UI, thanks to Bootstrap and CSS * Free, no sign-up required This is a personal project of mine that I used to learn more about JavaScript and web programming. Feedback is appreciated! (Tell me if it sucks or not.) This project is hosted by Nodester…

1 minute screencast: https://youtu.be/AmDL2QtkoJ4 If you'd like play with it, please send a note with your name and email to [email protected] and I will send you an invite (via TestFlight). If you're the kind of person who listens to albums cover to cover, or would like to manually arrange your records instead of going through a boring alphabetized list, or are just really annoyed with the iOS Music app (like I am), you should check this out!

idle.fm is an app that looks at the music you have "liked" on Facebook, then builds a playlist on Spotify based on recommendations. I built it in the few hours I have free during the last couple of weeks. There's still a few rough edges (it's quite slow at the mo) but I thought I'd show you guys. It should work on iphones, although there aren't tailored views yet. Do you think it's worth me continuing development? Suggestions, problems? Disclaimer: it posts to your profile when you create a playlist. http://idle.fm

I'm Sam, I make sample libraries (as FrozenPlain). These sample libraries run inside Floe, my audio plugin for Linux, macOS and Windows. It's designed for musicians, composers and producers - typically people involved with film/TV/game scoring or ambient music. I open-sourced it primarily because I'm very fond of this philosophy and I want to open the door for serving a wider audience than just my own libraries. It's totally free, no sign-ups. You'll need a DAW. To try it: - Download and install Floe: https://floe.audio - Download your choice of free packages:…
