Benchmark DNS, HTTP & SSL from one CLI

  1. 1DB

I built a CLI to benchmark DNS resolvers after discovering DNS was adding 300ms to my API requests. v0.3.0 just released with new features: compare: Test single domain across all resolvers top: Rank resolvers by latency/reliability/balanced monitor: Continuous tracking with threshold alerts 1,400+ downloads in first week. Quick start: pip install dns-benchmark-tool dns-benchmark compare --domain google.com CLI stays free forever. Hosted version (multi-region, historical tracking, alerts) coming Q1 2026. Benchi is a CLI tool for running benchmarks and collecting metrics. It's using Docker Compose to orchestrate the infrastructure and tools being benchmarked, making it repeatable and runnable on different machines. It allows you to run the same benchmark for different tools and compare the collected results. The repository contains a simple example. For a more elaborate example see how we use Benchi to compare data pipelines running on Conduit and Kafka Connect, two data streaming tools (still work in progress): https://github.com/ConduitIO/streaming-benchmarks

Hey Folks! I've been building an open source benchmark for measuring local LLM performance on your own hardware. The benchmarking tool is a CLI written on top of Llamafile to allow for portability across different hardware setups and operating systems. The website is a database of results from the benchmark, allowing you to explore the performance of different models and hardware configurations. Please give it a try! Any feedback and contribution is much appreciated. I'd love for this to serve as a helpful resource for the local AI community. For more check out: - Website:…

I recently built a small open-source tool to benchmark different LLM API endpoints — including OpenAI, Claude, and self-hosted models (like llama.cpp). It runs a configurable number of test requests and reports two key metrics: • First-token latency (ms): How long it takes for the first token to appear • Output speed (tokens/sec): Overall output fluency Demo: https://llmapitest.com/ Code: https://github.com/qjr87/llm-api-test The goal is to provide a simple, visual, and reproducible way to evaluate performance across different LLM providers, including…

Hey HN, I find myself reaching for tools like it-tools.tech or other random sites every now and then during development or debugging. So, I built a toolkit with a sane and simple CLI interface for most of those tools. For the curious and lazy, at the moment, ut has tools for, - Encoding: base64 (encode, decode), url (encode, decode) - Hashing: md5, sha1, sha224, sha256, sha384, sha512 - Data Generation: uuid (v1, v3, v4, v5), token, lorem, random - Text Processing: case (lower, upper, camel, title, constant, header, sentence, snake), pretty-print, diff - Development Tools: calc, json…

Hi HN! I'm Jarek, and I've built this tool that allows publishing .local domains on the local network using mDNS. It also has a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS termination and port forwarding. I'm working on adding more features, like an index page with all available domains or allowing proxy redirects, so you could redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Hi HN community, I have been working on benchmarking publicly available LLMs these past couple of weeks. More precisely, I am interested on the finetuning piece since a lot of businesses are starting to entertain the idea of self-hosting LLMs trained on their proprietary data rather than relying on third party APIs. To this point, I am tracking the following 4 pillars of evaluation that businesses are typically look into: - Performance - Time to train an LLM - Cost to train an LLM - Inference (throughput / latency / cost per token) For each LLM, my aim is to benchmark them for…

I built a CLI tool called `sshsync` to run shell commands and transfer files across multiple servers over SSH concurrently. It was inspired by tools like `pssh`, but I wanted something more modern, intuitive, and Pythonic. What it does: - Run shell commands on multiple servers (in parallel) - Push/pull files or directories with progress bars - Uses `~/.ssh/config` and lets you group hosts with YAML - Supports `--dry-run` mode to preview actions without executing - Outputs results using `rich` (tables, colors) - Built with `Typer`, `asyncssh`, and `rich` There’s no daemon or…
