Sup HN, So I got tired of bouncing between Flightradar, MarineTraffic, and Twitter every time something kicked off globally, so I wrote a dashboard to aggregate it all locally. It’s called Shadowbroker. I’ll admit I leaned way too hard into the "movie hacker" aesthetic for the UI, but the actual pipeline underneath is real. It pulls commercial/military ADS-B, the AIS WebSocket stream (about 25,000+ ships), N2YO satellite telemetry, and GDELT conflict data into a single MapLibre instance. Getting this to run without melting my browser was the hardest part. I'm running this on a laptop…

At Deno we've been using OpenClaw and other agents increasingly for addressing production problems in Deno Deploy - when a PagerDuty alert fires, the agent starts researching the cause and making fixes. In order to do this, the agent needs access to real production systems - postgres, kubernetes, gcp, clickhouse, github, etc. But this is dangerous to say the least - we want destructive actions to be reviewed by other LLMs, approved by humans, and logged appropriately. Claw Patrol terminates TCP connections over WireGuard or Tailscale, then parses application protocols (eg http, postgres,…

dish is a lightweight, 0 dependency monitoring tool in the form of a small binary executable. Upon execution, it checks the provided sockets (which can be provided in a JSON file or served by a remote JSON API endpoint). The results of the check are then reported to the configured channels. It started as a learning project and ended up proving quite handy. Me and my friend have been using it to monitor our services for the last 3 years. We have refactored the codebase to be a bit more presentable recently and thought we'd share on here! The currently supported channels include: - Telegram -…

nightwatch is a local-first, read-only layer on top of your monitoring. it groups alert storm into incidents, flags noisy checks and has an agent that can investigate for you live systems. You can e.g. jump from the incident into the agent directly. the reason for this weekend project is that we had a kubernetes upgrade that went wrong, and at some point a rollback wasn't possible anymore, so it had to be fixed live during the night while several problems came together. We run a lot of different systems, on-prem and several Kubernetes clusters, and in a situation like that you spend most of…
