Products that do what Newtiny - Forget Bookmarking and Record your whole Web History does

Few days ago I got frustrated by inability to search a web page which I had visited few months ago. Bookmarking services are great, but it always happens that we forget to bookmark something or don't find something important at the moment only to realize after few days that we should've. Even browsers' web history can go back only few weeks or months and if our system crashes or we switch to some other, it's all gone. So, I thought why not record my whole web history, put it up in the cloud and make it easily searchable from anywhere. http://newtiny.com Note: Yesterday, I had put up the link…

Hello HN, I’ve built Unsearch, a tool that helps you manage your browsing data across different browsers in one place. Some of the main features: - Sync bookmarks, tabs, and search history from any browser - Manage, edit, and delete bookmarks and history in the web app (even offline) - Copy bookmarks between different browsers - Download your data whenever you want - Advanced search with exact, fuzzy, and semantic options It’s fully open-source and currently in alpha, so feel free to check it out. Looking forward to your feedback!

Hey all, this is a small bookmarklet my partner made last week to save short summaries of long-winded web posts. Hopefully you can help others save time by sharing your TL;DRs with the world. You can also up/downvote the TL;DRs other users post. It should work with your iPad, too. http://tldrplz.com

Hey. I’ve been working on Rearview, a browser extension that makes browsing history more useful. It’s available for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. What it does: - Full-text Search: Search page content, not just URLs or titles. - More Filter: Organize history by date, time, or visits. - AI Assistant: Get insights from your history. (Optional, with your own api key.) Everything stays local in IndexedDB. Feedback & Feature request welcome. BTW, since Firefox does not provide a favicon URLs implementation (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1315616),I am currently requesting…

Hey HN community, there are a couple of websites I visit on a daily basis. I type the first two oder three characters of the url and the autocomplete feature of my browser does the rest. That is also how I procrastinate. It happens that i visit the same website over and over again without that there is really new content on that site. Or on the other side it happens that I forget to visit a certain site for some days. To address all this I build the following website: https://everyday-favs.com The idea is: you have one personal link (1) and define a list of websites and how often…

Hi HN! My name is David ([email protected]) and I am the author of Linkidex (www.linkidex.com)! My goal is to make bookmarks better. I built Linkidex because I was getting overwhelmed by the number of things I had to keep track of on the internet during my day to day job. Constantly needing to re-find various wikis or jira epics or project proposals or whatever was eating into my day. I was using a chrome extension to manage urls, but the extension was getting unwieldy as my list of “important URLs” grew and I started looking for alternatives. There are a few really cool bookmark managers…
