Hi HN! I built Nimbus, an AI agent that helps companies reduce their cloud costs by automatically analyzing their infrastructure and recommending specific optimization actions. What it does: - Continuously monitors AWS, GCP, and Azure resources - Sends daily actionable recommendations via email - Identifies underutilized dev/test VMs and over-provisioned - Kubernetes clusters - Estimates potential savings for each recommendation - Provides one-click approval for implementing changes - Tracks savings over time with detailed analytics Future Plans: - Support for DigitalOcean and Oracle…

Hi HN, I'm Anil. Nimbus is a desktop browser with an AI agent built into it. The UX is shamelessly inspired by Claude Code: a chat bar at the bottom, an agent log above it, and the webpage itself when its needed. This is mainly a UX experiment for me. And also the reason it isn't a Chrome extension: once you have a chat bar that understands intent, the URL field is redundant. You shouldn't have two places to tell the browser what you want. I didn't want to bolt an agent onto an existing browser's chrome and end up with duplicated controls everywhere — I wanted full freedom to redesign the…

Hi HN, we’re Nick and Drew, and we’re building boxes.dev – the first cloud-only agentic dev environment (ADE) that gives every Codex and Claude Code agent its own cloud computer. We’re two engineers who previously built Gem (co-founder/CTO and first hire), and we spent the last year coding almost exclusively using Codex and Claude Code. It’s been a huge change to how we code, and it’s been exhilarating seeing the models keep getting better – but we eventually realized that developing on localhost was holding us back: - Git worktrees are clunky to set up and use for parallelizing work -…

Hey HN, I'm building Plandex (https://plandex.ai), an open source, terminal-based AI coding engine for complex tasks. I built Plandex because I was tired of copying and pasting code back and forth between ChatGPT and my projects. It can complete tasks that span multiple files and require many steps. It uses the OpenAI API with your API key (support for other models, including Claude, Gemini, and open source models is on the roadmap). You can watch a 2 minute demo here: https://player.vimeo.com/video/926634577 Here's a prompt I used to build the AWS…
