I'm currently developing Chili3D, an open-source, browser-based 3D CAD application. By compiling OpenCascade to WebAssembly and integrating Three.js, Chili3D delivers near-native performance for powerful online modeling, editing, and rendering—all without local installation. Access it here: https://github.com/xiangechen/chili3d Features: Modeling Tools: Create basic shapes (boxes, cylinders, cones, etc.), 2D sketches (lines, arcs, circles, etc.), and perform advanced operations (boolean operations, extrusion, revolution, etc.). Snapping and Tracking: Precisely snap to…

Commodity FDM print strength is limited by poor Z-axis layer bonding. Parts crack along Z under stress. MAGMA tries to fix this in software that works on any FDM 3D printer. It's a fork of OrcaSlicer with a new infill type that creates paired U-shaped vertical channels inside the print, plus G-code that injects molten plastic into those channels to bridge Z layer interfaces with continuous plastic. Big caveat: I have a junky Ender 3 and haven't gotten a clean physical print yet. Don't expect this to work out of the box! After months of tinkering, I'm releasing the software so the 3DP…

3D printers need slicer software to turn 3D models into print commands. Slicers have lots of configuration parameters, any of which could screw up a print. A couple months back I was looking for slicer settings to get my new k8200 printer working with anything other than PLA. A kind Redditor shared her settings on a private Github with me, but only after a couple weeks of forum hunting and Googling. That got me thinking - there has to be a better, faster way to do this.. I put together www.slicershare.com to make sharing slicer setting files dead easy. You can browse for slicer settings by…

Hi HN, author here. SHARP is Apple's recent single-image 3D Gaussian splatting model (https://arxiv.org/abs/2512.10685). Their reference code is PyTorch + a pretty heavy pipeline; I wanted to see if it could run in a browser with no server hop, so I exported the predictor to ONNX and ran it via onnxruntime-web with the WebGPU EP. What works: drop in an image, get a .ply you can download or preview live, all on your machine — your image never leaves the tab. The model is large (~2.4 GB sidecar) so first load is slow on a cold cache, but inference itself is a few seconds on…
