Autism Simulator▲779Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…

Rocket Journal▲218Hi HN! I just launched Rocket Journal, a voice-first journaling app designed to make reflection as easy as talking. Key ideas: Rant mode — vent freely, no judgment Reflect mode — guided prompts to help dig deeper AI insights — mood tracking, patterns, helpful takeaways Stickers & scrapbook — journaling feels lighter and fun Privacy-first — your data isn’t used to train models I built this because journaling apps often feel like “work.” I wanted something that felt like having a safe, responsive companion for those late-night thoughts or walks outside. I’d love feedback from the HN community:…

I hope you are doing better today than yesterday. (TLDR in the comments; or enjoy my story :) ) Why: About 11 months ago, I launched my app for the first time on Reddit's r/lonely because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school. I wanted to reach out to people going through similar experiences by providing them with what would’ve helped me in the past. I felt this was an important mission for me and a much more rewarding one than my day job that I quit my job to work on the app full-time. It was necessary because I did not come from a programming background. I…

Wife of an app-builder here. My husband quit his full time job at Apple to work full-time last year on a new social audio app where you are anonymous and there are no videos or images - people can only connect with their voice. The app has been up for just less than 2 months, and it was incredible to see 300 users from all around the world leave voice messages of support for each other. It definitely restored my faith in humanity, so much so that I decided to jump on board as a co-founder :) We are on a mission to end loneliness that is gripping our world today, and we hope you also come…

Hi HN ! I've struggled with anxiety for most of my life. But I was lucky to have a supporting family and friends. Not everyone has this chance. So I made Wiro Talk to help strangers pair up and check on each other. Check it out and tell me what you think. It's an mvp so yes it's using discord at the moment.

I was somewhat hesitant about sharing this personal projects, especially since I just saw that cool looking Werk[1] tool posted, but I figured that my ADHD-fueled creation might still have it's own place to be. I just finished rewriting the code for a personal tool I use to automate terminal tasks while minimizing the amount of Python/Bash code I have to write. As with all other tools I create for my own use, the guiding principle is simplicity and approachability, as if the tool creates more issues or friction than it solves, I'll get discouraged from using it again. Hi HN, I’m still in college and new to the startup world, but here is my first shot at a side project: Milburn, an integrated therapy+journal tool(https://milburn.vercel.app/). I built Milburn bc every mental health tool I could find was missing something: the therapy apps didn’t have voice/memory/too expensive, and the journal apps were always a PITA to sync with therapy. We trained the chatbot’s model on specific therapy modalities(I personally need CBT sessions, but we also have others like DBT), and then created a prompted journal, added a feedback loop, voice…

I had really bad health anxiety the last 2 years that severely impacted my quality of life. I started using Claude for support and was surprised by how much it helped. I realised how much potential there is for LLMs to provide an objective perspective on stressful thoughts - so I built an app that helps you form a habit around this to reduce long term anxiety. You vent what's on your mind and an LLM will evaluate your thoughts objectively (heavily leaning on CBT techniques), to help you maintain a more balanced perspective. Technical stack: - Flutter (to release cross-platform) - OpenAI API…

This is the first version of an app idea I had last month as a way to dip my toes into some of the AI APIs. The idea is you can record yourself answering and rehearsing what you'll say to common interview questions, and receive AI feedback on how you did and how you can improve. In the future I may expand into other subject areas, but wanted to scope it to the behavioral interview format for the time being. Super open to feedback and suggestions!

https://github.com/inoda/private_journal Built this to use myself, and I'm curious if anybody would be interested in using it. I'm also wondering if anybody has tips to make it more secure (I'm super super new to encryption and whatnot). The security is probably a bit overkill since chances are that nobody cares about what I'm journaling, but it is fun to implement from a code standpoint.

I've been working some software to make capturing feedback cheap and easy. I think it can be much less expensive if we put our friends and family to use.

Mindfuse▲8Hey HN, I built Mindfuse because I missed having real conversations online. It’s a simple concept: You press a button and get matched with someone, anonymously, for a voice-only conversation. No usernames, no profiles, no feeds. Just two people talking. The goal is to create quiet, meaningful spaces in a noisy, performative internet. It’s live on iOS now. Still early — small user base, no monetization, just people talking. Happy to answer any questions or feedback. I’d especially love to hear from anyone building in the audio/social space or interested in digital minimalism, mindful…
