For the past 5 years or so I've been working on a ground-up redesign of Freenet, my peer-to-peer project from the early 2000s (now renamed Hyphanet). The new Freenet has been up and running since December along with some early applications like River[1], our decentralized group chat and Delta - a decentralized CMS. Nostria, a fully peer-to-peer social protocol designed to eliminate reliance on centralised message relays - a common bottleneck in the Nostr ecosystem. Led by long-time open-source contributor Sondre Bjellås (https://github.com/sondreb/), they are currently raising a small pre-seed round to develop the minimum viable product (MVP) and expand our user base. Hi HN, This is a site where users can submit content and the shortest SHA256 value of nonce+content among them will make the site display the content. Very basic, without a blockchain. I'm launching Wirewiki.com today! Wirewiki makes the internet’s hidden infrastructure browsable. I quit my job 5 years ago to scale Nslookup.io. But after reaching 600k monthly users, I hit a ceiling. I couldn't naturally expand beyond DNS because of the domain name. So I went back to the drawing board: how would I make it today?
