Our little startup you've never heard of, called Vidpresso, is powering CNN's New Year's Eve social media ticker! It's a huge accomplishment for us. Somebody said "Launch early, launch often", so I guess it's about time. WhatMyFriendsRead.com -- a social recommendation service for interesting links and content. Main idea: What is interesting for you is what your friends find interesting. I made a functional prototype hacked together in php+mysql with ugly html+css. Long story short: we've noticed that it's very hard to "sum-up" any idea on one page and share it without using a blogging platform. Let's say you want to collect and present your point of view on "IA reaserch". You can write a blogpost or use social media to share your opinion (that would reach limited amount of people though). I built this app because I really enjoyed "Pulse" but I felt it lacked a few things. I wanted a web-based version, I wanted my news articles grouped together by topic, and I wanted an easy way to share with other people. It is early in the site's life, so somethings are missing, including the critical mobile app. If you have any feedback to give, it would be appreciated!
