I've always wanted a better way to explore the authorship data embedded in a Git commit log. I'm having fun building a CLI tool to do this. It's a bit like the "Contributors" tab on Github that shows you how many commits each contributor has made but much faster and with many more options. If you get a chance to try it out, please let me know. I'd love to hear feedback and suggestions. Thank you!

deff is an interactive Rust TUI for reviewing git diffs side-by-side with syntax highlighting and added/deleted line tinting. It supports keyboard/mouse navigation, vim-style motions, in-diff search (/, n, N), per-file reviewed toggles, and both upstream-based and explicit --base/--head comparisons. It can also include uncommitted + untracked files (--include-uncommitted) so you can review your working tree before committing. Would love to get some feedback

Finally open sourced an internal tool we've been using for managing secrets. It's similar to SOPS, but more opinionated, easier to configure/use correctly, and produces nicer git diffs. It also supports one-way encryption, so you don't have to know the private key to add secrets.

Hey folks, I just released a new CLI tool called gmap, built in Rust, focused on exploring Git history visually and efficiently from your terminal. Highlights: • Heatmap view: weekly commit activity with churn and delta stats • Filetype breakdown: see which file extensions are most active • Authorship insight: per-week top contributors • Timeline and trends: sparkline and stats over time • TUI mode (–tui): navigate interactively, search, filter, view stats • Export mode: get all Git stats as JSON for further processing Install with: cargo install gmap Or check it out here:…
