24 alternatives to Open-source sound effects and react library to spice up your website

Hi all, I've been using sound effects in a few web-projects lately (mostly for notifications) and it's always a pain to find good sound effects and then handle them in the browser. So, I compiled my learnings into an easy-to-use React library. It currently has ~70 sound effects (MIT licensed) and I'm happy to add more if you have any requests. PS. the sound effects can of course be used without the React library!

This project provides a collection of approximately 70 MIT-licensed sound effects designed for web applications, particularly notifications. It includes a React library that simplifies integrating audio into React… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes.

By and large, using the web is a visual experience. This is in terrible contrast to mobile apps, which interact with three of our human senses (sight, sound, and touch, through haptic feedback). I just released a library to make it easy to add sound to your React app, and I make the case that you sh

I made this because building UIs in a lexical medium like code is super annoying. I have to pre-render what I’m making in my head, and then jump between the browser and IDE to test. I was inspired by the developer console in chrome and safari since I end up editing css there because it’s ironically more convenient. Hope it’s useful!

Looking at websites such as Clerk, I began thinking that design engineers might be some kind of wizards. I wanted to understand how they do it, so I started reverse-engineering their components out of curiosity. One thing led to another, and I ended up building a small library of reusable, animated components based on what I found. The library is built in React and Framer Motion. I vibe-coded a complete React rewrite of my multi-track audio editor with Claude. Waveform Playlist v5 started as a "let's see how far AI can take this" experiment. The original was vanilla JS (~8 years old). The new version is React + Tone.js with proper TypeScript, tree-shaking, and a modular package structure. What we built: canvas waveforms, drag-and-drop clip editing, 20+ Tone.js effects, AudioWorklet recording, WAV export, annotations, theming.
