Hey all, wanted to share my recent weekend hack project. I wanted to improve upon the existing space for looking up information about IP addresses and ASNs. The backend is written in Rust and pulls BGP data every 8 hours from the RIPE RIS project to build up a routing table and also adds geolocation information. The frontend is using React and Tailwind. Would love any feedback or suggestions on what to improve.

Ditch Burp Suite’s bloat for zxc, a Rust-built, terminal-based proxy that uses tmux and Vim to intercept HTTP/S and WebSocket traffic. It captures requests for debugging, security testing, or tweaking—fast and lean. # Key Features - Disk Wizardry: Stashes massive datasets on disk-100k+ entries without breaking a sweat. - Addons: Boost your workflow with default support for ffuf and sqlmap, or craft your own addons for extra fun. - Buffer Tweaks: Edit variables in a popup (e.g., b:host, b:scheme) in Interceptor/Repeater to twist requests. - Config Control: TOML files for global…

I'm working at Sauce Labs on a fast MITM proxy. If you are using mitmproxy, Fiddler or Charles proxy in your job I believe you'll find it invaluable. Forwarder 1.1 is now available, complete with a Grafana Dashboard for effortless monitoring. We are committed to making it great. I welcome your feedback. Cheers Michał

Hi HN! I'm Jarek, and I've built this tool that allows publishing .local domains on the local network using mDNS. It also has a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS termination and port forwarding. I'm working on adding more features, like an index page with all available domains or allowing proxy redirects, so you could redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

I built a Chrome extension that acts as a WebSocket proxy, allowing real-time monitoring, message simulation, and traffic interception. Think "Proxyman for WebSockets" but integrated into Chrome DevTools. Key features: Real-time WebSocket monitoring and message capture Send custom messages in both directions (client ↔ server) Block incoming/outgoing messages for testing Background monitoring (captures connections even when DevTools is closed) Why: I was debugging a WebSocket chat app and needed better tools than browser DevTools. Existing solutions required external proxies or were too…

Hey HN! We’ve open-sourced Requestly (https://github.com/requestly/requestly) - A network debugging proxy for web & mobile apps. Requestly intercepts all HTTP(s) requests & responses and provides full control to developers to modify the request/response like rewriting request URL to hit different environment or returning different response for APIs/scripts. In addition to HTTP(s) interception & modification capabilities, Requestly also offers Mock Server [0] & recording the browser sessions [1] with video, console logs, & network logs stitched together. Threw together this very specific proxy that allows the downstream to define which IP will be used for the proxied request, and has built-in rate limiting mechanism to coordinate upstream rate limiting across clients. This is particularly useful when you have a proxy node with many IPs, and you either want to use a specific one, or rotate through them. It also helps prevent upstream rate limiting due to disjoint clients being unable to coordinate on rate limits. Opus was largely able to one-shot each feature from my specs, which was pretty cool (shows how effective a spec is).

A simple Go-based HTTP proxy designed for detailed inspection of requests and responses. It logs traffic to the console with colorization, automatic decompression, and formatting for common content types, while remaining transparent to the client application. Ideal for debugging API interactions, understanding middleware behavior, or simply getting a clear view of HTTP traffic flow with jq-like pretty-printing & colorization of request/response. Automatically redacts parts of Authorization header to avoid token leakage.
