Krita's v4.2+ RGBA brushtips let you paint with dimensionality, and it's a technology that Photoshop doesn't have (≖‿ゝ≖) It lets the creator do things like emulating light direction, making brushstrokes look 3D. I used them to make a set of metallic brushes. If there are any FOSS artists around, feel free to test them out. (p.s. Hello HN, these Mini Trees have a custom circuit board with WS2812 addressable LEDs on one side and a controller using an RP2040 microcontroller on the other, all inside a CNC'd Foamex PVC case. This is a little script I wrote a while ago to help generate sprites for a game I was working on. You can use it to build a seemingly-infinite aperiodic noise texture that is actually composed of a relatively small number of tiles. For example, imagine a large grassy field or body of water in a 2D pixel art game, but without the obvious repeated patterns that arise from simple tiling. The use case is pretty niche (for example, in many cases you could just evaluate the perlin noise function directly in a shader) but I thought it was a cool idea regardless.
