Hey HN – I built Dock after years of team chat frustrations as a founder. Free forever for teams up to 5. Unlimited search, unlimited history. No "upgrade to see messages older than 90 days" nonsense. Built for teams who work both async and sync/real-time when it matters. runs on SOC 2 infra, compliant, secure and in-transit and at-rest encryption, runs on Cloudflare. Early stage – would love feedback from anyone who's felt the same pain.

ohai! I've released Lightwhale 3, which is possibly the easiest way to self-host Docker containers. It's a free, immutable Linux system purpose-built to live-boot straight into a working Docker Engine, thereby shortcutting the need for installation, configuration, and maintenance. Its simple design makes it easy to learn, and its low memory footprint should make it especially attractive during these times of RAMageddon. If this has piqued your interest, do check it out, along with its easy-to-follow Getting Started guide. In any event, have a nice day! =)

Hi HN, I’ve been having a lot of fun building Docking, an open-source dock for Linux written in Python with GTK 3 and Cairo. It includes an extensible applet system, 38 built-in applets, 12 themes, multi-monitor support, auto-hide, and works across several Linux/X11 desktop environments. It also has prebuilt releases for x64 and arm64 across multiple package formats: AppImage, .deb, RPM, Flatpak, Snap, Arch, and Nix outputs. GitHub: https://github.com/edumucelli/docking Feedback is very welcome!

I found it odd there wasn’t a simple web tool to scan Docker Hub images for vulnerabilities. So I built one. It’s powered by the popular open-source tool Trivy.

Hey HN! We’re Kyle and Jacob and we are excited to show you Depot (https://depot.dev) and get your feedback! Depot is a hosted Docker container build service, providing fully managed remote builds from CI and from your terminal. We support both Intel and Arm builds natively. As application and platform engineers, we have experienced the challenge of keeping Docker container build times fast. From optimizing and reoptimizing Dockerfiles, to implementing layer caching in CI, to running & maintaining custom runners for multi-platform images. Still today, there are limitations with the…
