Hi, folks. As an RSS user, I tried Inoreader and Feedly, then ended up self-hosting a Miniflux instance on my homelab. A few months ago, I moved to another city and had to shut down my homelab for a long time, so I couldn't access my local miniflux. It was quite inconvenient. I decided to self-host my RSS aggregator on a tiny VPS or PaaS such as fly.io. However, Miniflux requires a PostgreSQL database, which may isn't suitable for a tiny VPS instance. So I built fusion with Golang and SQLite. It contains basic features such as Group, Bookmark, Search, Automatically feeds sniffing,…

Hey HN, cofounder of Readwise here. We've been working on this cross-platform reader app for about 2 years, excited to finally share it in public beta. Hi all! Excited to share rss2newsletter after completing dev work for the initial release. The idea for this project came out of necessity, as I wanted to share my articles via email newsletter. I was looking for a super minimal, lightweight, and open source solution, and when none existed, I decided to create one. For any sizable number of email recipients, a popular platform like Mailchimp will easily cost you hundreds or even thousands per month in per-contact fees. rss2newsletter, on the other hand, allows you to use Amazon SES, so you can reach your audience at pennies on the dollar.…

In the last few weeks I've been working on a RSS application designed to be used in e-ink devices such as Kindle, through the device's web browser. It's a self-hostable app optimized for running on low-end hardware (such as Raspberry Pi, I actually run it on a 3b model). The project is in its early stages of development. It is usable, but you may (and probably will :P) encounter bugs from time to time. I did it for myself (I like to read at night before going to sleep but I don't like to use my phone at that time). I thought people could find it useful so I worked on it a little bit more to…
