There are a lot of Python to web app frameworks going around these days but I wanted something that was a little more lightweight that just generates HTML pages and can be embedded in Flask or other Python web servers incrementally. PyVibe uses Python components to construct a page with styling that you can use in Flask, in a static site, or even in Pyodide.

Hi everyone! I've been working on a web search interface for Python's documentation as a personal project, and I think it's ready for other people to use... Please give it a go (and join me in praying to the server gods): https://pythondocs.xyz/ Here's the tech stack for those interested: - Parser: Beautiful Soup + Mozilla Bleach - Database: in-memory SQLite (aiosqlite) + SQLAlchemy - Web server: FastAPI + Uvicorn + Jinja2 - Front end: Tailwind CSS + htmx + Alpine.js I have ideas for future improvements but hopefully the current version is useful to someone. Let me know what…

For the past few months, I've poured all my energy into building something I'm incredibly passionate about: SamwiseOS, a completely in-browser, AI-first operating system. What is it? SamwiseOS is a persistent, single-page web app that looks and feels like a real operating system, complete with a terminal, a robust virtual filesystem (that saves to your browser's IndexedDB), user/group management, and even graphical applications. The twist? The entire core logic—filesystem, command execution, user management, everything—runs on a Python kernel powered by Pyodide (WebAssembly). The JS…

Hey HN! We're Nithin and Nikhil, twin brothers building BrowserOS (YC S24). We're an open-source, privacy-first alternative to the AI browsers from big labs. The big differentiator: on BrowserOS you can use local LLMs or BYOK and run the agent entirely on the client side, so your company/sensitive data stays on your machine! Today we're launching filesystem access... just like Claude Cowork, our browser agent can read files, write files, run shell commands! But honestly, we didn't plan for this. It turns out the privacy decision we made 9 months ago accidentally positioned us for this…

Hi all! A little background: I've been working on natto.dev, a spatial environment for JavaScript. I'm really excited about new interfaces for code (leveraging metaphors we're good at, spatial reasoning, making state visible, design tools, etc). With all the buzz around PyScript, I discovered Pyodide and got it working inside natto. This Python version is a stripped down version of https://natto.dev (eg interactive outputs, multiplayer) so please check that out if this interests you. I'm excited to share this spatial environment for Python. Imagine Jupyter cells arranged on a 2D…
