24 alternatives to Quickpost

Hi HN, I’ve been building a small social network where the feed is always chronological — newest posts come first, always. It’s not 100% algorithm-free (there’s still basic filtering to avoid spam or abuse), but the core idea is that every user has a real chance to be seen, even with zero followers. It’s lightweight, works well on mobile, and supports both posts and comments. Most of the content is currently in Portuguese, since it started with a Brazilian audience, but the interface is mostly language-neutral. I’d love any feedback on the concept, UX, performance, or anything else. Thanks!

TLDR: I built a "quick and dirty " private social network for my friends, posted on Reddit and HN, got some interest so now have built it properly along with my brother. site link: https://intimost.com/login/ demo creds: [email protected] Demo123! Full version: I needed a social network where I can just send updates and nothing else. So I built it, my friends liked and now I have built it "for the world". Everything is private by default. - Text-only updates - No likes. Only views to acknowledge a post - [in development] Comments are private between the poster and…

www.schmeebs.com I built this site in two days. I tried to make it a fusion of Twitter + Digg in that people will be able to follow certain "domains" of news then be able to see popular stuff from there. Its as real time as it can be at this point. Would welcome any thoughts on it!

Hey guys, I made a post about this about a week ago and was told to create a Show HN post. So here we are! Squabblr is a hybrid that takes Twitter style posting and combines it with Reddit style commenting. It came up from a personal want where I liked using Twitter to see what people I'm interested in are up to, but found that the reply system left a lot to be desired. It's very hard to have or follow conversations with their UI. While Reddit provided a great commenting system but didn't support following people very well (or had much usage of it at all). So I decided to create Squabblr.…

I built Campfiree because I got tired of platforms treating users as products. On Campfiree, users submit feature ideas and vote on them weekly. Moderation is handled by randomly selected community juries, no corporate team deciding what's acceptable. It's free with ads or $7/year without (free during beta). We have 55 users so far and ship features every week based on what the community votes for. I'd love honest feedback on the model and the product.

Think of HackerNews, but only for AI content. Did build this out of the wish for easier discoverability of new technologies in the AI/ML space. Obviously, so far only a tiny small community, but maybe a few of you find it nice to be around and want to post a link there every now and then :)

Hello. :) I've noticed for the last few years it feels like everyone has been saying the same thing, that social media got baaad, timelines feel hostile, nothing you see is actually from people you chose to follow, and every platform seems optimized for outrage, screenshots, and engagement bait rather than the original microblog ideas of the early 2010s I miss the 2010 social styles, where you have to share your @name with a friend IRL because search wasn't really search... A place where you followed people, saw what they wrote, stumbled into interesting discussions, and hashtags meant…

Does it sounds like something you guys would want to use? http://www.thesharedweb.com/alpha/intro We'll tell you guys more about exactly what we're doing as the conversation evolves, but we just wanted to see what the initial reaction is, and what you understand (i.e. are we describing it in a way that makes sense). Hello Hacker News! In the past few weeks I've been working on a side project that allows you to post anonymously a short message and a photo that is tied to your location. Other people can see posts around them in a radius of 1 kilometer. Posts are ephemeral and disappear after one day. That's all. It started as an exercise to try to write a geohash index and to try nodejs and Redis. I'm not sure if/how it could be useful. Maybe it could be used as a quick way of sharing something with someone next to you, or to leave a reminder for someone at a specific location. Or it could be abused…

Hey friends! I’d like to introduce my latest product, Flashpost, a post scheduling tool for Reddit. The free tier includes 5 free posts per month so you can give the product a try. It is my first paid product as I try to make it as a solo indie dev! The goal is to offer a simple tool for creators to promote their projects on Reddit without breaking the bank for a single distribution channel. Now for the behind the scenes details. ## The Backstory When I launched my first project TechStackLeads on Reddit, the response was remarkable. My post received 700k impressions, resulting in 20k…

Hello, here's my first app on the App Store, a week end project I've made with a friend. I had the idea - questionable - and did the UI. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/instatus/id622077531?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D2 (there's also the free version) The concept it's pretty simple, share your thoughts on Instagram, only words on white background so it will seems that your words will float into your friends feed - I suggest to not use any filter! - got already some ideas for future upgrades. I'm giving away 3 code to get the full version, if you want one, just ask! Best, Filippo p.s. This message…

Still pretty rough ... Emphasizes: 1) Simple, no-frill dashboard for managing posts (files). 2) Lightweight markdown editor 3) Relationships: taxonomy (file tagging) and fast linking (content to other posts) Some of the important key bindings I have are ctrl+c for code, ctrl-L for linking text to other posts. Right now this is baked in but I'd want to allow users to customize it. It's still pretty beta but let me know what ya'll think!
