undercutf1 is a F1 live timing app, built as a TUI. It contains traditional timing pages like a Driver Tracker, Timing Tower, Race Control, along with some more detailed analysis like lap and gap history, so that you can see strategies unfolding. I started to build undercutf1 almost two years ago, after becoming increasingly frustrated with the TV direction and lack of detailed information coming out of the live feed. Overtakes were often missed and strategies were often ill-explained or missed. I discovered that F1 live timing data is available over a simple SignalR stream, so I set out…

Hi I'm Dan from Elodin, making an open source real-time capable flight software simulation. For AI Grand Prix contestants, the wait for the Round 1 virtual qualifier simulation has been grueling. If you’re competing, check out our simulation harness to tide you over, built to match the published competition constraints and message format. It runs against real Betaflight, which we learned requires at least 1000 sensor samples per second to run real-time correctly. The competition warranted introducing a new feature to generate the camera sensor directly in the simulation loop. Typically…

Hey everyone! I'm a huge F1 fan and got tired of juggling multiple tabs and apps during race weekends, so I built F1 COSMOS. What it does: - Live timing: Real-time data updates in milliseconds - sector times, telemetry, team radio, you name it. No more refreshing pages or waiting for delayed updates. - Replay feature: Missed qualifying or fell asleep during practice? You can replay the live timing from any past session. Pretty handy when you're in a bad timezone. - Proper data visualization: I went beyond just showing lap times. There's race analysis with telemetry data, championship…

Instead of playing video and trying to display timing information next to it, how about we build a simulation based on timing data and become able to determine the state of the race at any given point in time based on the few 'radar blips' of sector loop passes we have? This is that. It takes the video and timing material of a 24h race (The IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship ROLEX24 at Daytona 2024) - 4 videos hosted on YouTube and a big CSV of laptimes and reimagines how a race replay might look like. It comes with a few non-standard visualizations, and a lot of possibilities for…

I and my colleagues built this racing game where you write JavaScript code in your browser to race on a Unity WebGL based race track. We'll actually invite the top 5 racers in Finland to run the same code on our actual (admittedly rather kludgy) physical cars, which my colleague built from RC cars and Raspberry Pis. I think the game is super fun. I hope you enjoy it as well!

Games in general and multiplayer games have been a big part of what my friends do together (not just digital; sports, board + card games) And it moved to online games as more of us moved to other places and party games became our go-to Love jackbox and gaming couch (that I discovered here on HN) I saw the vibej.am for this year and I couldn't think of a good enough idea till about the 3rd week but here I am! This is a game made for me and my friends and it's also very inspired by what I thought the PS3 6-axis controller would be when I first heart about it Thanks for reading this and I hope…
