My friends and I love playing description games, but got tired of the same old cards - so I made a simple web app with a fresh set of prompts, and a different timer mechanic: Rather than teams taking turns, everyone sits together, and you describe only one prompt at a time. As soon as you're done you pass the phone to the player on your left, who gets a new set of prompts to choose from, and so on. After an exponential (memoryless) random amount of time, the round ends (loudly!), and whoever was holding the phone at the time loses a life for their team. It's like Hot Potato. The prompts are…

I've been playing Wordle and remembered this puzzle game I used to play with my grandfather. It's inspired by the block puzzles in many newspapers but made to be shorter: just guess the nine letter word. So I made a quick thing to play with my family like we used to. I thought you guys might enjoy it.

Word Slicer▲85I shared Word Slicer here a while back — it’s a free, ad-free, browser-based word game where you try to find 5 words in 5 minutes. Since then I’ve been improving it (daily challenge archive, cleaner UI, better stats), and I’d love more feedback from the HN crowd. In particular, I’m interested in thoughts on the gameplay flow, design/UX, and what would make it more engaging.

Hi my name is Chris, I'm the creator of Rank a Day. I don't know if it's just me but I love ranking things and discussing them like "Who's the best sports person?" or "What's the best Matt Damon film?", so I decided to create a simple web app that gives you a random topic to rank every day. Once you've selected your top 3 answers you can submit them, see how they compare against other peoples answers and share them on social media. I have a few Whatsapp groups I'm in and every morning we share our answers, it's just a really good conversation starter. I'd appreciate any thoughts and…

I drink coffee every morning. One morning, an idea occurred to me: what country drinks coffee the most? Sure, you can read about that somewhere online, but that data is static. I wanted to create a global leaderboard where people can track their daily coffee intake. The idea is simple: you drink coffee, track it, and the score (how many mL you drank) gets added to the leaderboard. The more you drink, the more your country climbs up the leaderboard.

DLES.gg▲14It's crazy, the world of Wordle style games is totally booming. After I made my own daily game, I started to be interested in the area, I started to collect games I found interesting and put together a directory. I shared it here and there and add a 'submit a game' button, I'm having about 3-5 new games submitted every single week, similarly in the r/wordgames there's a new game concept launched multiple times a week. This sector is totally booming. The cost of developing a game is close to 0 and all the non-coder people who had an idea are now shipping daily games. It's wild and…
