Products that do what Rate our startup, Distala does
Hi guys, we recently launched https://www.distala.com/ and are looking to gauge interest from the HN community. Feedbacks are all welcome ! Distala.com provides a full web remote desktop control or screen sharing. It allows one shot sessions to provide assistance to your folks or a resident software to install on computers to get access whenever you want. Feel free to test our service: as early adopters you would be helping us a lot since it's our first launch !

HN, I've been mostly lurking, semi-active on HN for over 4 years. For most of that time, I've been working on my startup, Learndot. I have always wanted to do a "Show HN" post, but I never thought it was ready. We've now finally launched web signup and using a freemium business model. I feel I can now post and offer something to the community (a new app to try out) and hopefully get good quality feedback. Here's the site: http://www.learndot.com Would appreciate any or all thoughts: From pricing/positioning, to design/performance. The app is written in Sproutcore and backed by an API written…

Based on the multiple "Who's hiring remotely?" and similar posts on HN, I thought it might be useful to have a site that aggregates remote programming jobs. There is way too much spam out and an inconsistent way to say "work from home" so traditional searching doesn't work (or rather, takes a long time per person). I've worked in a few remote programming positions so I figured I might know of some companies or searching tricks to find them. Let me know if you'd find this type of thing useful. If we can get some traffic going, then maybe we can start attracting companies to actually list…

So after 18months of working on my startup Leadngin.com we're finally ready to launch. Our first user was in fact Swombat with GrantTree who is still with us today. Many more HN users have since scaled their sales process with us! Let me know if you have any questions and be sure to point out anything we're doing wrong.

We've got a "launch" planned via a few partners here in town, from which we expect a significant amount of domain-specific traffic (i.e. a buncha designers). We'd love to get HNs take on our landing page from a marketing perspective and, if you feel so inclined, the functionality we have in place within the app. I've disabled the private beta lock such that if you register an account you will have immediate access to the app. You can find the landing page at http://www.pixelstew.com If you have any questions about anything at all please don't hesitate to ask!

I made a post a few days ago asking if any software companies/start ups needed technical video tutorial writers and I had a few very interested and serious respondents email me. I've been looking for something to do with this domain hence I give myself a Christmas present.

I setup this up about two months ago and seeded it with a variety of questions about stuff SaaS related but it ultimately ran out of steam. I truly think there's a need for real honest to goodness web forum for SaaS enthusiasts as forums often turn into a gold mine of quality content as the user base grows and matures. So this is my attempt to get this thing some exposure and get some users for it. It's not meant as a replacement for Hacker News at all, as HN is a perfect platform for trends and current news. But I think it's lacking when it comes to fostering long term topic discussion…

I’ll put the tl;dr up front: I built my first web app with HN’s news.arc: http://hubski.com The long version (I can be verbose): Recently, I was in a startup that sputtered out. It was my seed idea, but my contribution was on the design/UI end. We applied to YC fall 2010, and were rejected (rightfully so, in retrospect). My previous coding experience entails a bit of Fortran from undergrad research, and building a couple of simple websites (Frontpage even. o-O). Anyway, I had tons of energy for the project, but lamented not being able to contribute to coding, where it was badly needed. After…

I've spent the last couple weeks working on getting this up and running. It's my first web app. The use case it is designed for is for shift workers who work x days on, y days off. So if you ask them "Are you going to be able to go to my wedding on July 15, 2012" they have no idea. This helps solve that problem. Feed back as always is appreciated.

We're launching http://getgush.com next week. We've been working on this for 6 months, and we'd LOVE to get your feedback before we launch. Please be cruel. It's a photo site for ALL your photos: every single photo you've ever taken. We still have a long way to go, but trying to launch really early. You can create an account (hacker news members only) here: http://getgush.com/i/17p6 Cruel feedback > nice feedback > no feedback.

http://www.betapunch.com: Sign up / Submit startup, get a unique URL to launch our screen recorder, share the link with your beta sign ups or anybody you want to test your site, they record and upload their video which sends the feedback directly to your startup page. Each startup gets a unique URL to share with testers. Send the URL to them via email or place the URL on your website. For the screen recorder I am tapping into the Screenr.com API. Would love to hear the HN community opinion and if it is something you would use to get usability testing for your own startup. Currently our free…

Hey Guys, I set this up a while ago and have tried a variety of things to get it really kicked into gear, and this is my newest attempt. The forum is meant as a community for anyone involved in startups and specifically SaaS based systems (Software as a Service). I know, why a forum when we have HN? My opinion is because HN is inherently temporal/trend based, whereas a forum can maintain conversations that last months (or even years sometimes). As participation grows in a forum, it only becomes more valuable to both newcomers and veterans alike. So I see SaaSaholics.com being in a symbiotic…

Hi, i was wondering what the HN community thinks of this email tone check application? Do you think this can be done better with open-source? Disclaimer: I am neither a founder or an employee at the company. Just someone who had a similar idea.

We built this using investor tools. I really wanted to know which startups to work for. Are we on the right track? PS - there's a paywall but if you want to explore more, just DM me your email and I'll give you free access in our db!

I am announcing the private beta of my first web app (http://getfounder.com). The beta will launch in just one city, which will be determined by the number of entries on the location-aware sign up page. As this is my first public release, I'm looking to the HN community to offer me feedback on what I should/shouldn't be displaying on the homepage. I'd be grateful for any advice you had to offer. Thanks, and I hope to see some of you in the private beta! Colin

With StartupSchool coming up next weekend, I thought it would be nice to have a site where you can post parties, jobs, rideshare, rooms for rent and tips for attendees. HNBoard can also be used in general for job postings, looking for co-founders, etc. Thanks.

http://invincibilitee.com Me and my co-founder submitted an app for YC W11, with a web site that would help college graduates figure out what jobs they could get with their chosen degree. We got a rejection email, and already had this as a back-up idea in case we did get rejected. So in the month between rejection and today, we found a printer, found some graphic designers, and got enough done that we felt comfortable with it as a first iteration. I know there aren't so many non-web app startups on HN, but I thought y'all might like to see how 2 guys rebounded from YC rejection.
