Products that do what Rollin – Wheelchair accessibility scores for 56K+ locations (free API) does
Solo dev, Hudson Valley NY. I built ROLLIN because Google Maps gives wheelchair users a yes/no checkbox and calls it accessibility data. ROLLIN scores locations 0-100 across 6 features: wheelchair entry, accessible restroom, level entry, parking, wide aisles, elevator. Data pipeline pulls from OpenStreetMap, cross-references Google Places, and layers in community verification with a trust-weighted scoring system. Stack: Vanilla JS (no frameworks), Netlify serverless, Supabase/Postgres, Leaflet maps. ~56K locations across NY, CA, FL, MA, NJ, PA. Free to use, free API tier for…

For the past few months, I've been working on a website that answers two different questions: - Where in my city have the best travel times to all the things and people I care about? - Given a listing, how far is it from all the things and people I care about? Personally this was fueled by my own frustrations when I was apartment hunting in NYC. I was frustrating to have to juggle so many Google Maps tabs when I was evaluating a listing, and it was also annoying to not have full confidence that I was even searching in the right places. I wanted to be close to work, a Trader Joe's, and a…

I am slowly adding more locations now. This is intended to be a crowdsourced map. Everyone is welcome to add more locations and provide comments/votes here. Free people from going to a cafe for work only to leave because there's no wifi, restroom, or outlet!! Demo: https://x.com/KSeisai/status/1708273554041504028?s=20

US counties must make their PDFs accessible by 26 April 2027. We drew a random sample of 100 US counties, harvested 941 documents from their public portals, and found 58.1% have no tag tree at all - meaning a screen reader gets no headings, no reading order, and no table structure.

Hey HN, We built Auglinn to make it easy for anyone to leave notes outdoors and create interactive maps, using AR. You can: - Pin notes or questions from your desktop that appear as AR notes outside, or - Leave notes or questions while exploring outside with AR, and view them later on your map via phone or desktop. My favorite feature: creating maps by dragging and dropping photos from your phone. The story? When I was a kid, my father visited Universal Studios and captured it all on video. When I went there in 2019, I found myself wondering if I was standing in the same spots he had. This…

Ryd.io As a capstone project for Galvanize's data science immersive I took another look at the NYC Taxi data set. A ton of analysis has been done on individual rides/cars and I was curious about what story would be told by looking at this data through the aggregate. Through the clustered map you can identify different 'personalities' of the city with a birds eye view. Check it out here http://ryd.io/cluster_map I've just spent past couple weeks working hard on this project and would love to talk to anyone about it if they are interested. After the conclusion of the…

Hello! I built a map that generates a heatmap of the most convenient meeting spots between several people, based on public transit travel times. Move the markers anywhere in the map; all cities with sufficient transit data are supported!
