Products that do what RSS.Style – better UX for RSS/Atom links, now using JS instead of XSLT does
One of the things hindering RSS/Atom is poor discoverability. Normally, clicking on a link to an RSS/Atom feed brings up either a "wall of text" or even worse, a "Save As" dialog, both of which are useless and especially hostile to newcomers. This has lead to authors avoiding putting visible links to their feeds in their HTML pages. So now newcomers never even learn that feeds exist, never mind learn how useful they are! Hello there! I'm sharing a small Firefox extension that I created for my own use (and for fun, of course!). The extension partially restores the RSS support that was removed from major browsers a long time ago: it extracts (or derives) RSS feeds from pages and shows them in a nice way and easy to export to some external reader. Last week I showed prldr.com, a small project I created during my weekends. The immediate thing I learned from the comments was that prldr had to be a RSS reader, which I already had in mind.
