Partially inspired by recent discussions on HN and other places. I've made a single-focus site to introduce your friends/colleagues/neighbours/family to RSS and web feeds. https://www.youneedfeeds.com/ The site is meant to give the elevator pitch for feeds, show a newbie what feeds are and how to use them, set them up with a reader, and give them some nice starter content if they want it. So much tastemaking and newsmaking power is concentrated in the hands of Facebook/Reddit/Twitter, but I'm convinced it's because much of the general populace doesn't know about feeds. Many people just don't know of any other option than the core three social sites for keeping up with what they like! They're forced to endure all the anger and fighting of social media, just to keep up to date. The more people know about feeds, the more they use feeds, the more sites support feeds, and then more people learn about feeds in a virtuous cycle. I hope to create more uptake of feeds amongst the general population, a more decentralised internet, and maybe just make the average user's day a bit nicer. Let me know what you think.     I created this chrome extension for myself where I track my own behavior locally and recommend myself content from platforms I want content from (youtube/twitter/quora/etc) in a feed. I made it public just in case anyone else was interested. I would rather have control over my own algorithm and own the data. Also, it gives me flexibility. Turns out I do like these feeds just not when I don't own it haha. Let me know what you think of my implementation?

    Howdy! RSSfeedASAP scratches my own itch. I run a regional podcasting directory which gets dozens of messy submission for podcasts. Often they don't even include an xml file and me being a good samaritan I sometimes do the manual work and find it myself. I got tired of that manual work and decided to build a microapp. RSSfeedASAP is this app and I decided to release it in case someone else finds any use in it.

    Hey HN, maker here. It was a serious 4-6 months of effort to build this. I have never poured as much love, attention and detail into a project before. So I really appreciate you having a looksie!     I've always wanted to follow podcast guests across shows, not subscribe to entire podcasts. Most of the time the podcasts host guests which I don't really care about. When a guest you follow appears on a random podcast, they will appear as a new entry in the rss-feed for that particular guest. Hopefully some here will find that useful :D
