You Need Feeds – Introduce friends/family/workmates to RSS and webfeeds

In plain words

You Need Feeds is a educational site designed to introduce people to RSS and web feeds. It explains what feeds are, how to use them, helps users set up a feed reader, and provides curated starter content. The site targets anyone unfamiliar with feeds who currently relies on social media platforms for news and updates.

In the maker’s words, at launch

Partially inspired by recent discussions on HN and other places. I've made a single-focus site to introduce your friends/colleagues/neighbours/family to RSS and web feeds. https://www.youneedfeeds.com/ The site is meant to give the elevator pitch for feeds, show a newbie what feeds are…

Howdy! RSSfeedASAP scratches my own itch. I run a regional podcasting directory which gets dozens of messy submission for podcasts. Often they don't even include an xml file and me being a good samaritan I sometimes do the manual work and find it myself. I got tired of that manual work and decided to build a microapp. RSSfeedASAP is this app and I decided to release it in case someone else finds any use in it.

Free tool to find RSS feeds, even if not linked on the page2024 · ▲152

I developed a small tool to find RSS feeds for websites. You can try it out here: https://lighthouseapp.io/tools/feed-finder In >90% of cases the standard way of checking meta tags is enough to find the feeds. But my goal for this tool is that it finds feeds regardless if they're linked somewhere or not. That if this feed finder doesn't find a feed, no feed exists. It's a big goal and admittedly not there yet, but it does a few things that are a step in that direction. * Checks meta tags of parent pages (sometimes the article itself doesn't have the meta tag, but the main…

I've been working on creating threaded blog posts using RSS feeds. Something similar to Twitter but kind of worse and better in its own way. I had an idea that if users are allowed to embed the threads to their posts, it acts like a simple comment section. Try it out, no accounts required.

FeedSense – A private recommendation system built from your own sourcesApr 2026 · ▲7

Hi HN, Two things inspired me to build this: Andrej Karpathy recently talked about going back to RSS feeds — "higher quality longform and a lot less slop intended to provoke" (https://x.com/karpathy/status/2018043254986703167). Around the same time, Marc Andreessen shared his information source: 25% X, 25% podcasts with practitioners, 25% conversations with AI, 25% old books (https://x.com/pmarca/status/2030949039345467570). This made me realize how much it matters to control what you let in. But I've used to the feed-style reading habit…
