Switcher is a dev tool that enables SSH and HTTP(S) services to run simultaneously on the same port. By detecting incoming connection protocols, it routes traffic appropriately without requiring separate ports for each… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. I built a CLI tool called `sshsync` to run shell commands and transfer files across multiple servers over SSH concurrently. It was inspired by tools like `pssh`, but I wanted something more modern, intuitive, and Pythonic. What it does: - Run shell commands on multiple servers (in parallel) - Push/pull files or directories with progress bars - Uses `~/.ssh/config` and lets you group hosts with YAML - Supports `--dry-run` mode to preview actions without executing - Outputs results using `rich` (tables, colors) - Built with `Typer`, `asyncssh`, and `rich` There’s no daemon or…

ts-ssh solves a specific problem: accessing machines on your Tailnet from environments where you can't install the full Tailscale daemon (like CI/CD runners or restricted systems). It uses Tailscale's tsnet library to establish userspace connectivity, then provides a standard SSH experience. Works with existing workflows since it supports normal SSH features like ProxyCommand, key auth, and terminal handling. Some features that proved useful: • Parallel command execution across multiple hosts • Built-in tmux session management for multi-host work • SCP-style file transfers • Works on…

Hi HN, I've built an app for macOS that allows performing common SSH operations on Linux servers using a native GUI. The problem: Managing multiple Linux servers usually means juggling terminal windows and copy-pasting snippets/scripts. After dealing with tens of production/staging VPSes at previous jobs, I realized there had to be a better way for common operations I did on a daily basis than my collection of bash snippets. Features: - Quickly switch between different servers. Tag servers with arbitrary key values for easy search. - Real-time dashboard with CPU/memory graphs,…

Hey there HN! ruroco (RUn RemOte COmmand) is a tool that lets you execute commands on a server by sending UDP packets (instead of knocking on ports). the tool consist of 3 binaries: - client -> runs on your notebook/computer and sends the UDP packets - server -> receives the UDP packets and makes sure that they are valid - commander -> runs the command encoded by the data of the UDP packet if it's valid The commands are configured on the server side, so the client does not define what is going to be executed, it only picks from existing commands. I use this tool to open up the SSH port…

Hi HN, I’ve wanted a simple solution to handle Wake-on-LAN sequences for my home and work labs to boot up servers in the right order. I was already dabbling in Rust and thought this would be an interesting project to dive deeper and see if it could work well for this kind of network tool. The result is rallyup. rallyup lets you set up server dependencies in a YAML file, so each service (e.g., firewalls, storage, VM hosts) comes online in the right order. It verifies each server’s status before moving to the next. Features: - Dependency-based WOL with VLAN support - Built-in health checks…

I've made a neat service to access SSH over NAT. Unlike ngrok and alternatives with registration, custom software, non-preserved random URLs and ports, this solution is just a remote SSH server which does not require anything more than an SSH client to both host and connect. Technically it allows to publish any service over SSH (web, proxy, any TCP port really), but only with SSH as a destination you'll preserve end-to-end encryption and won't allow my server to snoop on potentially unencrypted traffic. The service is mostly intended to give remote access to the device as fast as possible,…
