Products that do what Self-hosted email server for 2026 – single binary, CalDAV does

Built this after getting frustrated with the paying to a google for email. Now running it for 1 months in production. What it does: - Full SMTP server (inbound/outbound, DKIM signing, SPF/DMARC checking) - IMAP with IDLE support - CalDAV/CardDAV (replace Google Calendar/Contacts) - Web admin panel with Prometheus metrics - Greylisting for spam prevention - Auto-discovery (mail clients configure themselves) - Audit logging for compliance What it doesn't do: - Webmail (use Roundcube, etc.) - ML-based spam filtering (greylisting + basic heuristics only) - Clustering/HA

Hello, I have been developing self hosted CalDAV calendar Bloben (https://bloben.com), which is now available also as standalone Electron desktop client for Linux and Windows. It is using same client and server code base with some changes like: - switching from PostgreSQL database to SQLite - requests are handled with IPC - no account management, just single user Why Electron app when there is already self hosted client? I think there are some people, who don't want all features from self hosted version and using desktop app might be easier for them or it is just better alternative…

We've tried systems like OSTicket, OTRS etc, but never found anything to our liking. Most systems were cluttered, slow or too advanced. Brimir is simple but usefull.

As someone with a clean IP range and ADHD, I manage my inbox by splitting across a variety of accounts for a variety of domains. I’ve never really found a client that scratches all my itches, so I spent some time making one and it’s now become my daily driver. It’s optimised to be visually simple and highly configurable for things like colour, folders/subfolders, sorting and tweaking the search query function to better match what you search for often. There’s also some little nice-to-haves like a purpose-built PWA, bulk domain onboarding, MCP and dark mode. It’s fully self-hostable,…

Hey HN, I've been working on an email client and wanted to get some feedback! Minimail is built on Phonegap, so it uses HTML/CSS/JS for everything user-facing. The app also uses emailbox (a related project of mine) as the backend API for receiving/parsing/sending emails. I think email clients need a huge UX/UI overhaul, and so I'm trying to build a flexible/hackable email client that anyone can customize to fit their email workflow. Thanks for any feedback! Hi HN, I host my own mail infrastructure and don't rely on third-party tools to send my mails. But in a microservice architecture, managing all the SMTP configs quickly becomes tiresome. After a while I'd always have my credentials and settings scattered in application-properties, bash scripts and environment files. So I've build Brieferl, an app where you can add your SMTP servers and send emails through a single API with a simple JSON payload. You also get logs of when/where emails were sent and HTML previews of messages. I am interested in what you guys think about this. You can…

Hi HN, I'm excited to share a project I've been working on: UnwrapEmail(https://unwrap.email), an API designed to detect and verify disposable or temporary email addresses. Features: - Detect disposable email addresses - Extract labels from email addresses (e.g., Gmail) - Normalize addresses by removing labels or special characters (e.g., Gmail) - Validate MX records of domains - Check whether it’s safe to send to a given email to reduce bounces and maintain sender reputation Why I Built This: As the owner of an AI wrapper app, I've seen decent traffic thanks to SEO efforts + ads,…
