Built this after getting frustrated with the paying to a google for email. Now running it for 1 months in production. What it does: - Full SMTP server (inbound/outbound, DKIM signing, SPF/DMARC checking) - IMAP with IDLE support - CalDAV/CardDAV (replace Google Calendar/Contacts) - Web admin panel with Prometheus metrics - Greylisting for spam prevention - Auto-discovery (mail clients configure themselves) - Audit logging for compliance What it doesn't do: - Webmail (use Roundcube, etc.) - ML-based spam filtering (greylisting + basic heuristics only) - Clustering/HA

Hello, I have been developing self hosted CalDAV calendar Bloben (https://bloben.com), which is now available also as standalone Electron desktop client for Linux and Windows. It is using same client and server code base with some changes like: - switching from PostgreSQL database to SQLite - requests are handled with IPC - no account management, just single user Why Electron app when there is already self hosted client? I think there are some people, who don't want all features from self hosted version and using desktop app might be easier for them or it is just better alternative…

As someone with a clean IP range and ADHD, I manage my inbox by splitting across a variety of accounts for a variety of domains. Hey HN, I've been working on an email client and wanted to get some feedback! Minimail is built on Phonegap, so it uses HTML/CSS/JS for everything user-facing. The app also uses emailbox (a related project of mine) as the backend API for receiving/parsing/sending emails. Hi HN, I host my own mail infrastructure and don't rely on third-party tools to send my mails. But in a microservice architecture, managing all the SMTP configs quickly becomes tiresome. After a while I'd always have my credentials and settings scattered in application-properties, bash scripts and environment files.
