Products that do what Simple self-hosted voting for posts does
I built this after launching a blog site with Hugo and wanting a simple solution for adding support for upvotes and downvotes on posts. For the database, I was initially leaning towards using a key-value database like LevelDB to store the votes but chose SQLite because it has widespread support and gives me the ability to add other features later (e.g. comments).

I've spent about the past 6 months or so working on what I think of as 'database as a service'. Essentially hosted Sqlite with CORS support so users can post from anywhere, and execute queries saved on the backend. One of the things I'm going for is a completely in browser development experience, so there's nothing to install, the user simply uses the UI to create and edit queries and admin their database. One of the most basic uses would be posting form data from a static HTML page: https://www.lite-engine.com/blog/post_form.html I've posted it here before and didn't get…

I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. Please try it out and let me know what do you think, http://telescope.surf/ Note: you can do 'Add to Homescreen' on mobile to make it as an app. Please leave a feedback or any feature wishlist you may have. Thanks!

I recently launched my first web app, polls.io. It's a super simple polling app that doesn't require sign-up. In my opinion, this is the most simple/social polling app out there. There are certainly many similar apps out there, but I think this one stands out as it straight-forward and doesn't have any unnecessary "mess" getting in the way of the actual poll. From idea to inception this took about a week. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. We'll be listening to feedback in the coming days/weeks in order to make the proper changes. I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts and feedback!…

3 hours ago I had the idea for a global polling/voting system, using nothing but tweets... It went live 5 minutes ago! ... To start or participate in a vote, just Tweet something this: "#twote #bestdatabase #couchdb #redis" ... Results: http://176.34.235.38:8000/ Code: https://github.com/sreuter/twote Me on Twitter: @sreuter
