Products that do what Soperator – Run Slurm in Kubernetes does

Hi HN, With this operator, you can run Slurm in Kubernetes and enjoy the benefits of both systems. Both Slurm and Kubernetes can serve as workload managers for distributed model training and high-performance computing (HPC) in general. Each system has its strengths and weaknesses, but the trade-offs are significant. Slurm offers advanced and effective scheduling, granular hardware control, and accounting, but lacks universality. On the other hand, Kubernetes can be used for purposes other than training (e.g. inference) and provides good auto-scaling and self-healing capabilities. It's…

Hello HN, we're platform engineers from Ant Group. We're working on Karpor (https://github.com/KusionStack/karpor), an open-source intelligence tool for kubernetes. Karpor brings advanced Search, Insight and AI to kubernetes. You can gain crucial visibility into your kubernetes clusters across any clouds. Here is a demo video (https://youtu.be/_PqcpmrBqLk) and live demo (https://karpor-demo.kusionstack.io) with quickstart instructions. As platform engineers, we are responsible for our Internal Developer Platform(IDP), and one of the ultimate goals…

WebAssembly makes it possible to run serious computation in browsers. I wanted to see if we could treat browsers as Kubernetes workers. Kuack is a Virtual Kubelet provider that schedules Kubernetes workloads to browser tabs. Visitors' browsers connect, report capacity, and become ephemeral workers. It looks like a regular Kubernetes node - same kubectl commands, same OCI images, same workflows. The difference is that pods execute in browsers instead of servers. With multi-platform OCI images, Kubernetes can fall back to regular nodes if no agents are available. It's designed for short-lived,…

Our project is at: https://www.processmaker.io/ We built a high performance workflow engine in the cloud aimed for developers. It originally was intended as a BPMN focused engine but you can also create complex workflows programatically without any BPMN diagramming tools. Think of it as a platform that goes well beyond ITTT or Zapier. This platform means we can do services orchestration and serverless programming (using our script tasks which currently support LUA) as well as human enabled workflows (think of using forms and approvals, etc). We have SDKs in most major…

Hello HN, I’m excited to share something we’ve been working on: Cloud Troubleshooting Labs. This tool provides on-demand environments for engineers to practice hands-on troubleshooting with AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes. What it does: We use Pulumi to spin up these environments. Each scenario includes a diagram and an explanation of the available IT infrastructure. Engineers are tasked with fixing configuration issues to make the application work. Depending on the test type, the environment could range from a simple terminal to a full cloud environment or a web-based VSCode. Many of our…

Hi HN! I built LLMKube, a Kubernetes operator for deploying GPU-accelerated LLMs in production. One command gets you from zero to inference with full observability. Why this exists: Regulated industries (healthcare, defense, finance) need air-gapped LLM deployments, but existing tools are either single-node only (Ollama) or lack GPU optimization and SLO enforcement. LLMKube bridges the gap. What's working: - 17x speedup with NVIDIA GPUs (64 tok/s on Llama 3.2 3B vs 4.6 tok/s CPU) - One command: llmkube deploy llama-3b --gpu (auto CUDA setup, scheduling, layer offloading) -…

We have finally open sourced our Keycloak config operator (I have yet to find a better name) that allows to manage your entire Keycloak configuration in a GitOps fashion through Kubernetes CRDs. Starting is easy, there is an export flow which allows you to export CRDs from your current configuration and then you can apply them as needed. The resources are deliberately raw JSON (I'd love to see a discussion on this) so that its compatible with a wide range of Keycloak versions out of the box. Heavily inspired by the now defunct keycloak realm operator. Feedback and suggestions for…

Hey HN! I wanted to share an open-source project I’ve been working on called k8sAI. It’s a personal AI Kubernetes expert that can answer questions about your cluster, suggests commands, and even executes relevant kubectl commands to help diagnose and suggest fixes to your cluster, all in the CLI! As a relative newcomer to k8s, this tool has really streamlined my workflow. I can ask questions about my cluster, k8sAI will run kubectl commands to gather info, and then answer those question. It’s also found several issues in my cluster for me - all I’ve had to do is point it in the right…

We are super excited to release the community edition of our product to help DevSecOps teams -- Deepfence ThreatMapper ! Deepfence is a unified platform to protect kubernetes, virtual machines and serverless workloads at runtime. We have packaged a subset of important features of the platform in this edition. Essentially, you can visualize kubernetes clusters, virtual machines and container images in real time and scan them for vulnerabilities. You can also scan an unlimited number of container images by integrating with popular registries. This community edition comes with batteries…
