While studying Geometric Algebra I have built some interactive visualization to demonstrate how geometric transformations (rotation, scaling, translation) can be constructed by just composing reflections. Accepting reflection as the most elementary geometric operation was an eye opening moment for me. I think some of you might enjoy the interactive visuals.

It's our new text-to-image model: a 9.3B single-stream diffusion transformer trained entirely from scratch. We focused heavily on controllability through structured JSON prompts, with strong text rendering, spatial awareness through bounding box guidance, and color palette control. It has the best text rendering of any open-weight model we've tested so far, and the NF4 quantized checkpoint runs on a single 24GB GPU. For more technical details and examples see our blog post: https://ideogram.ai/blog/ideogram-4.0/ We will be happy to answer any questions :)

Vision models have been gaining popularity as a replacement for traditional OCR. Especially with Gemini 2.0 becoming cost competitive with the cloud platforms. We've been continuously evaluating different models since we released the Zerox package last year (https://github.com/getomni-ai/zerox). And we wanted to put some numbers behind it. So we’re open sourcing our internal OCR benchmark + evaluation datasets. OP here. This is a geometric decoding of Chopin's Prelude No. 4. I built a 3D music midi visualizer ( https://github.com/jimishol/cholidean-harmony-structure ) and realized that standard music theory couldn't explain the shapes I was seeing. So, I developed the Umbilic-Surface Grammar to map the topology of the harmony. This document demonstrates that the prelude's tension isn't random, but a rigorous conflict between 'Gravity' (Station Shifts) and 'Will' (Pivots). I am looking for feedback on the logic—specifically from anyone with a background in topology or music…

Hi HN, In the past few years I've become more interested in machine learning. Since I'm sure the same is true for many here, I wanted to share this project I've been working on: glowstick uses type-directed metaprogramming to keep track of tensor shapes in Rust's type system and determine which operations are permitted or not at compile time. I find Rust has a lot of strengths when it comes to ML applications, but waiting until runtime to find shape related issues feels a bit strange since normally I don't run the code all that often while developing. Given Rust has fancy types available, I…

Trim is building a foundation model for physics. We found almost all well-maintained transformer-based architectures are optimized for language models. We’re releasing our own open-source transformer package that is optimized for physics. It achieves a 90% reduction in memory usage and a 3.5x speedup in a standard Navier-Stokes dataset.

Hey HN, I’m excited to share PRISM, an open-source system we’ve been building that fuses multiple AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, and FAL API) with Processing to create evolving geometric art and static images. The idea came from our fascination with how AI can generate new forms but often lacks a memory or evolutionary approach. PRISM aims to solve that by “remembering” past successes and failures and then adapting its creative approach over time + useful for automating batches and variations of specific styles of techniques with prompt adjusting. *Key Features:* - Multi-model AI Generation:…

I want to share the most recent model release we have prepared. It's a Vision-Language understanding Transformer. It has 40% fewer parameters than vanilla CLIP while performing much better on text-to-image retrieval, where it's also beneficial that our output embeddings have 2x fewer dimensions (256 vs. 512). Moreover, it supports 21 languages, including popular English, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, and lower-resource languages like Ukrainian, Hebrew, and Armenian. We have packed the library into ONNX and CoreML, providing PyTorch inference code for CPUs and GPUs and PopTorch code for Graphcore…

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a project called L88 — a local RAG system that I initially focused on UI/UX for, so the retrieval and model architecture still need proper refinement. Repo: https://github.com/Hundred-Trillion/L88-Full I’m running this on 8GB VRAM and a strong CPU (128GB RAM). Embeddings and preprocessing run on CPU, and the main model runs on GPU. One limitation I ran into is that my evaluator and generator LLM ended up being the same model due to compute constraints, which defeats the purpose of evaluation. I’d really appreciate feedback on:…
