TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my analytics app with you. This project came from requirements to track certain very frequent events. I found that the cost to do it on a regular analytics product was much more than i was willing to pay. Secondly, I also wanted to use as few resources as possible. So I thought it may be a good idea to create something that may be useful for myself (and hopefully others). I have been able to track a great number of events with this using ~20 MB of storage and memory which is incredible. I have been really impressed by golang as a language and as an ecosystem…

Morning HN. I worked on a cloud CMS and then pivoted an analytics feature to a standalone SaaS. Pathview focuses on the conversion path rather than general analytics. I want to help users optimize conversions. It doesn’t use cookies, contains 160-characters of JavaScript, and leverages HTTP Messaging for a modern take on an old-school analytics approach. I’m close to launching a public beta test and could use a sanity check. Any advice, feedback, or questions for this first-time developer? -sb
