I would like to introduce Tabby, which is a self-hosted alternative to GitHub Copilot that you can integrate into your hardware. While GitHub Copilot has made coding more efficient and less time-consuming by assisting developers with suggestions and completing code, it raises concerns around privacy and security. Tabby is in its early stages, and we are excited to receive feedback from the community. Its Github repository is located here: https://github.com/TabbyML/tabby. We have also deployed the latest docker image to Huggingface for a live demo:…

Autotab is a Chrome extension that writes Selenium code to mirror your actions as you navigate the browser. See it in action: https://youtu.be/UypAcozIaoo Autotab lets you create browser automations that actually work. We designed it around two principles: 1. Show, don’t tell: In a domain like web automation, it's often easier to *show* the model what you want rather than to explain it in sentences. 2. Code is the best output: Code is easy to inspect and enables manual tweaking of the model’s suggested actions. On top of that, code output avoids lock in and is straightforward…

I got sick of the old software development loop: Change code -> Run tests -> wait -> wait some more -> look at failures. I decided to build a tool that will enable you to: Change code -> look at failures. No wait time, no explicit test running. Under the hood: - Runs the whole test suite and collects code coverage per test. - For each auto file save, analyzes the changes on the tests. - Runs changed tests in the background. - Display results, the loop time from change to test results is approx 250ms. Instead of: code -> alt+tab -> arrow up -> rerun all the tests -> wait ... -> test results…

Hi HN, recently there have been a lot of discussions about Chrome's dominance on the Web leading to many websites being broken for alternative browsers. I think one of the reasons for this is that browser automation is hard and manual testing is often limited to the browser developers themselves use. I've distilled my best practices for browser test automation into the following project and hope it helps other developers to test their projects with more browsers: https://github.com/blueimp/wdio It's a Docker setup for WebdriverIO with automatic screenshots, image diffing…

Hey HN! I'm Alex, a tech lead of the Selenium project and a QA engineer. For the last 10 months, I've been working on Alumnium - a test automation library that should make my life easier and let me write less code when automating the tests. The goal is to use LLM for _automating_ so I could focus more on _testing_. Unlike other similar projects, Alumnium can be used in existing tests without changes to test runners, reporting tools, or any other test infrastructure. This allows me to gradually migrate my test suites (mostly Selenium) and revert whenever something goes wrong (this happens a…
