Introducing QuaranTab: Companion extension to quarantine tabs so you can safely use them offline with private data I find myself wanting to use online format parsers to quickly decode that production JWT or decode a base64 Authorization header but cannot trust these websites to not leak my information. I thought to myself if only I could cut-off network access to this site, use it offline, and then throw away all browsing data. So I created an extension just for that. Local development with .local domains and HTTPSfree tier, from $8/mo▲84Hi HN! I'm Jarek, and I've built this tool that allows publishing .local domains on the local network using mDNS. It also has a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS termination and port forwarding. I'm working on adding more features, like an index page with all available domains or allowing proxy redirects, so you could redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Hi HN, I've developed a Chrome extension that provides tab-sharing functionality without the use of screencasting. The product works by keeping the DOM on a mirrored page in sync with the driver's display. This is achieved by listening for DOM events on the driver's page and relaying them to the mirror as display instructions (e.g. add/remove a node, change attribute, scroll page, etc.). While the mirrored page gets the DOM structure directly from their peer via a WebRTC connection, the bulk of the resources and visible content (e.g. images, fonts, stylesheets, etc.) are downloaded…
