Hey HN! I've always been fascinated by financial markets. This month, I decided to build a tool to help with the research of stocks and cryptocurrencies. I'm using YFinance as a data source because it's free and provides a wide range of reliable market data. For sentiment analysis, I'm leveraging Google Trends to gauge public interest and sentiment over time. The tool, named Zenith, is a command-line utility with four main features: Market Analysis: Provides insights like moving averages, RSI, and volatility for selected stocks or cryptocurrencies. Sentiment Analysis: Uses Google Trends to…

AI agents now have impressive reasoning capabilities. This raises an important question: how dangerous are these AI agents at identifying & exploiting web vulnerabilities? We created CVE-bench to find out (I'm one contributor of 16). To our knowledge CVE-bench is the first benchmark using real-world web vulnerabilities to evaluate AI agents' cyberattack capabilities. We included 40 CVEs from NIST's database, focusing on critical-severity vulnerability (CVSS > 9.0). To properly evaluate agents’ attacks, we built isolated environments with containerization and identified 8 common attack…

Nostria, a fully peer-to-peer social protocol designed to eliminate reliance on centralised message relays - a common bottleneck in the Nostr ecosystem. Led by long-time open-source contributor Sondre Bjellås (https://github.com/sondreb/), they are currently raising a small pre-seed round to develop the minimum viable product (MVP) and expand our user base. We would love to get feedback from the HN community: - What do you think of the approach? - Are there any technical issues you can see? - Is anyone here experimenting with alternative Nostr architectures?

Hi HN. We launched a free AI Coding Risk Assessment tool to help engineering teams and businesses benchmark the security and compliance posture of their AI coding workflows and policies against peers in the industry. This anonymous 24-question survey delivers: - A 0–100 risk score that measures your AI coding security posture - A live benchmark that compares your AI-assisted development practices with peers - A research-based checklist that identifies improvement areas We're seeing more and more clients signal their concerns about the sudden increase of source code written by AI coding…

Artifex is a machine-first, headless CLI runtime built for autonomous coding agents to author, validate, and render media node graphs locally. The agent talks to Artifex through a structured CLI interface. Workflows are DAGs, and each node is a plugin that can implement its own execution logic.. Each node has capability to inject logic into graph processing, WebGPU rendering, audio processing and their own SKILL.md file. Nodes can also inject their react components (not available with CLI) - which will be available with the desktop app. Execution is topological and supports checkpoint…

Hi HN, blockchain3d.info (http://blockchain3d.info) is a free 3D and VR Bitcoin Blockchain browser available for Windows, Android (with Google Cardboard for Virtual Reality), Linux and MacOS. The tool lets you enter a starting address or transaction, then navigate the Bitcoin network as far as you like (or as your hardware will allow, performance wise) to see inflows and outflows, all in 3D (or VR with Cardboard). Would love to hear feedback from HN folks!

Hey HN, In the months since we initially released Burr (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39917364), we have been hard at work. We wanted to share some of the most exciting changes we’ve made to build Burr out as a full-stack development framework for AI agents. In case you don’t recall, Burr is an open-source python library that makes it easier to build and debug GenAI applications & agents by representing them as graphs of simple python objects/functions. Burr only abstracts away system-level concerns (state persistence, debugging, observability), and does not…

Hey HN, we built an Econ+Finance database to let AI agents do investment research. We spend a lot of tokens to organize macro releases and SEC filings into a clean format, so that your agents have more context to do actual analysis. The problem AI agents are great at data analysis. But they become ineffective if most of their context window is spent on gathering and cleaning data, instead of validating hypotheses. Data in the wild is messy and rarely standardized. Definitions and measurements change over time. This problem is compounded by a fragmented data universe. Point solutions exist…

Hi HN, we’re Rohan and Michael from Decipher (https://prod.getdecipher.com/docs) and we’re working on an AI-powered error monitoring tool that helps engineers quickly understand what went wrong, the user impact, and how to fix it. It’s an alternative to tools like Sentry and BugSnag. We noticed that when there’s an application error it often takes too much time to figure out which issues are important and how to fix them. Because the overhead is too high, people (including us…) sometimes just pay attention to bugs that come directly from a user complaint. We were initially…

Hello! Introducing geniusrise, an agent framework and component ecosystem for building AI agent networks that are as flexible as your team. landing page: https://geniusrise.ai (fancy but useless) docs: https://docs.geniusrise.ai (please check this out) github: https://github.com/geniusrise (for dear devs) ## Thought process Since the ChatGPT disruption, I've been pondering on what the tooling layer is going to look like for building LLM-interfacing agents. Saw a plethora of tools coming out as we witness here every week. I'd broadly categorize them into the…
