Products that do what TaskUp.com: Tasks by Email & Text Message, and more does

Check out TaskUp at https://taskup.com Since our very early alpha release less than two months ago, we've been working non-stop on making TaskUp an awesome product. Today, a few thousand users later and many lessons learned (from a lot of Hacker News comments, we might add!), we are adding a few new features that our users told us they want: 1. Tasks by Email TaskUp now allows you to turn your emails into tasks for yourself and your co-workers & friends! You can now add up to 5 additional email addresses through which you can receive tasks in your account. That's more than plenty for all…

I recently decided to try out Google Tasks as my only task management system, and while I find some things about the interface great, it really isn't suited for someone like me who has multiple lists with lots of elements on each. So, I whipped this together real fast and I can't imagine using Google Tasks without it anymore. I realized you might want it too, so I put it on the web. Enjoy :)

Bookmarks which you wanted to read, but simply forgot... It happened to me all the time. I bookmarked the articles to read later and simply forgot about them. Forever. I built Mailist to help with that. Already 2350 users enjoy their "weekly digests" composed from their bookmarks. It makes me super happy! So now, https://mailist.app Pro account allows you to send an email newsletter every day, built from your bookmarks. Does it sound interesting? The free version (weekly email) is available for everyone! Let me know what you think. PS. Unlike other tools, we care about your privacy…

hey hackers , Me and the team are super excited to launch Ambra - https://ambra.app – a collaboration tool enabling teams to organize tasks in a natural way by using only tags and mentions, all in a single box. Ambra removes the necessity of having multiple fields for creating a task – there is one single box to rule them all. We empower writing tasks naturally. Defining a fully descriptive task in traditional tools is not a simple process. You’ve to start writing the task title, description, and additional form fields for task status, priority, assignee, etc. It means there are…

Hey HN, I'm a longtime reader and this is my first Show HN (exciting!) It's a collaboration between me and two friends, and we're building this upon another app we made called EmailYak, an API to receive email. We're trying something new and releasing the documentation to an app while we're still building it. We'd love feedback. Do you belong to any of these categories? 1) You've built an app with two distinct groups of users (say, people with cars and those looking for a ride) and they were able to communicate with each other. Did you expose personal email addresses? Did you send…

http://www.exercisesatwork.com/ I evolved this service over several months and since June it's in a state where I can show it to the public. The service is built on Google App Engine - an interesting experience on how the restrictions of the platform make you focus on the scalability of your app. Edit: wanted to add details as this might be interesting to HN. The challenge was to be able to get the emails and the associated timezones AND know what the time it is right now in that particular time zone. Then, I would have to email those records that would match the time, all this in 30…

Howdy, Hackers; dustball and I just launched a new web app called Prioritize My Work ( http://prioritizemywork.com ). We've been working on it off and on for about a month, and we figured it was time to share it with the world (i.e. you guys) and see what you thought. The basic pitch is that you've got a bunch of things to do and not enough time to do them all. You can use Prioritize My Work to build a todo list and then send it to your boss/client to let them arrange them, so you know what to work on first. Assuming you've got good time estimates, we even show you when you're going to run…

Hello guys! I need some help reviewing, and refining the landing page for an app that I'm building: http://taskr.punchdev.com/ (and here's a screenshot in case my DNS hasn't updated yet: http://cl.ly/0M1w340S1M2T1m0W3G2I ) It's a to-do list app that differentiates itself from others by making sure you add new tasks daily. Plus, it makes it easy for the user (you) to see the status of a task thanks to colors (blue for week-long tasks, red for overdue, orange for nearly due, and green for not due yet. Bonus points: The screenshot on the right is actually made with Keynotopia! Thanks a lot…

We created Slash (https://getslash.co/hn) after realizing that todo list apps are hopelessly broken. They're great at making lists, but offer you no help in crossing them off. In fact, they often create even more stress when you're staring at a list 100 items longs. Slash is a task "do-er" that helps you CRUSH your list by focusing on one task at a time. Quickly enter your tasks, hit 'Start', and the window shrinks down to a small always-on-top window that shows your current task and how long you've been working on it. When you're done, hover over the task name and click…

I'm documenting everything about my process. From learning to code, to building the app, and all the way to my outreach efforts. I'm learning as I go and sharing it with everyone who's not a programer, and is daunted to build a software on their own. Trust me. If I can do it, anyone can! You can find my updates on: https://Claritask.com ...as well as video updates on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdmqmifW4kIcPclXigay1dQ Would love to hear your feedback on my progress and if you have any suggestions on what I can do better. I'm trying to get the motivation up to actually finish building out a "real" product, and I found myself needing a "win" to keep my momentum up. So, I hacked out a little one sentence journal app last night. I experimented with a few UI things (e.g.., the autosaving of the sentence for today and so on), so it was a good learning experience also. You can check it out at: http://osod.im

My (revised) MVP - the concept is to put all job-finding activities in one app: job search/listings, emails/replies, resume/portfolio pages. Automate the searches, have an email editor that sends out themeable HTML emails, know which recipients are interested, and point them to a portfolio site of sorts. Briefly, the main features: * Aggregates jobs via job board APIs based on skills (searches twice a day) * Includes Twitter job search, displays linked content in-app * Email editor/sender (can be scheduled), with HTML templates * Email analytics (track clicks and views) * Preserves email and…
