Hi HN, I’ve been building this provider for (web managed) network switches manufactured by HRUI. These switches often used in SMBs, home labs, and by budget-conscious enthusiasts. Many HRUI switches are also rebranded and sold under various OEM/ODM names (eg. Horaco, XikeStor, keepLiNK, Sodola, etc) making them accessible/popular but often overlooked in the world of infrastructure automation. The provider is in pre-release, and I’m looking for owners of these switches to test it and share feedback. My goal is to make it easier to automate its config using Terraform/OpenTofu :)…

Hi HN, we're Lucas and Lucas, the authors of Layerform (https://github.com/ergomake/layerform). Layerform is an open-source tool for setting up development environments using plain .tf files. We allow each engineer to create their own "staging" environment and reuse infrastructure. Whenever engineers run layerform spawn, we use plain .tf files to give them their own "staging" environment that looks just like production. Many teams have a single (or too few) staging environments, which developers have to queue to use. This is particularly a problem when a system is large,…

Hi HN ! Alex here. I'm excited to show you Jinbase (https://github.com/pyrustic/jinbase), my multi-model transactional embedded database. Almost a year ago, I introduced Paradict [1], my take on multi-format streaming serialization. Given its readability, the Paradict text format appears de facto as an interesting data format for config files. But using Paradict to manage config files would end up cluttering its programming interface and making it confusing for users who still have choices of alternative libraries (TOML, INI File, etc.) dedicated to config files. So I…

I built this because I like learning infrastructure with Terraform. Things like provisioning an EC2 instance with SSH may look simple on the console since it's just checking a checkbox, but in Terraform, this requires users knowing a lot more concepts, which I see as an alternative way for hands-on learning. There are currently 54 questions regarding AWS+Terraform on the platform. No AWS accounts are required from users. I'd appreciate your feedback!

Hi HN. We’ve been building Abbey and happy to share our beta with you: https://abbey.io. Abbey makes it easy for engineers to configure how their infrastructure is accessed by other employees in the company. This is especially useful when your company outgrows giving admin access to everyone all the time, typically driven by compliance requirements. With Abbey, you use your existing Terraform setup to configure workflows and policies for how people are granted/revoked access to your services. Your end users then use a web app to request access to resources they need and you…
