I got sick of the old software development loop: Change code -> Run tests -> wait -> wait some more -> look at failures. I decided to build a tool that will enable you to: Change code -> look at failures. No wait time, no explicit test running. Under the hood: - Runs the whole test suite and collects code coverage per test. - For each auto file save, analyzes the changes on the tests. - Runs changed tests in the background. - Display results, the loop time from change to test results is approx 250ms. Instead of: code -> alt+tab -> arrow up -> rerun all the tests -> wait ... -> test results…

Issue trackers typically live outside of your workflow, with poor ergonomics. Epiq aims to solve that, bringing issue tracking into your terminal. Multi-user collaboration is achieved via git using user-scoped immutable event logs that converge in memory. Put my all into it. Let me know what you think.

Hi HN! We’re Adrien and Kanav. We met at our previous job, where we spent about a third of our lives combating a constant firehose of bugs. In the hope of reducing this pain for others in the future, we’re working on automating debugging. We’re currently working on a platform that ingests logs and then automatically reproduces, root causes and ultimately fixes production bugs as they happen. You can see some of our work on this here - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39528087 As we were building the root-cause phase of our automated debugger, we realized that we developed…

We are building Tonic Ephemeral - a purpose built test database that is easy and fast to spin up (or down) based on your dev and test requirements. As engineers who worked on data at Palantir and Tableau, we've seen developers struggle to get isolated test databases when needed. We faced the same problem while we were building our core product at Tonic. Based on this, we decided to build something for ourselves and then realized some of our customers loved it too. Today, we are sharing Tonic Ephemeral with the world. Briefly, Tonic Ephemeral manages test data infrastructure. In my…

We’ve just open-sourced SemHash, a lightweight package for semantic text deduplication. It lets you effortlessly clean up your datasets and avoid pitfalls caused by duplicate samples in semantic search, RAG, and machine learning. Main Features: - Fast and hardware friendly: Deduplicate datasets with millions of records in minutes, on a CPU. - Flexible: Works on single or multiple datasets (e.g., train/test deduplication), and multi-column data (e.g., Question-Answering datasets). - Lightweight: Minimal dependencies (largest is NumPy). - Explainable: Easily inspect duplicates and what…
